In a dramatic turn of events on Black Friday, a group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators infiltrated a ZARA outlet in New York City, leading to at least four arrests. This incident was confirmed by the New York City Police Department (NYPD) to Fox News.
The protesters were a vocal presence, using whistles and waving Palestinian flags. Shouts filled the air, with one woman reportedly declaring, “They fund the genocide, Free Palestine!” Another participant directed accusations at the store’s staff, claiming, “ZARA is a genocidal company,” as stated in the report.
The NYPD described their response to the demonstration, which was staged near the popular fashion retailer on Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Approximately 70 protestors were involved, according to their account.
As tensions escalated, some protestors forced their way into the ZARA store. Video footage captured the quick intervention by police officers, who swiftly escorted the intruders out, according to the report.
Following the ZARA incident, the same group was caught on video continuing their protest outside the nearby Microsoft store, the report further details.
The New York Daily News reported that police arrested pro-Palestinian protesters who blocked the Apple Store nearby. Demonstrators near the Apple Store reportedly held signs that said, “Think before you buy” and “Israel is killing children.”
NYPD said the investigation is ongoing.
