With Ryan Serhant as the driving force, the second season of Owning Manhattan is set to showcase some awe-inspiring real estate achievements. Notably, the new SERHANT agent, Peter Zaitzeff, whom Serhant recruits at the beginning of Season 2, makes waves with a monumental $60 million sale at 150 Charles in the West Village. This sale sets a new benchmark as the highest price ever recorded for a downtown listing.

In the fifth episode of Season 2, intriguingly titled “Wolf of Wall Street,” viewers discover that the condos at 150 Charles are so exclusive that they typically change hands off-market, with a waiting list for potential buyers. However, Zaitzeff manages to unlock this rare opportunity, allowing SERHANT agents Jessica Taylor and Jordan March to explore the property for their interested clients.

Priced at $60 million, plus a $450,000 parking space, the listing spans nearly 6,000 square feet of ultimate luxury. It boasts over 3,000 square feet of exterior terrace space, double-height ceilings, elegant herringbone oak floors, and a bespoke eat-in kitchen, all meticulously crafted during a two-year, $6 million renovation.

While March mentions his array of potential buyers, including a “crypto guy,” “hedge funder,” “actor,” and “big celebrity,” the episode keeps their identities under wraps. In a conversation with DECIDER before the Season 2 premiere, March disclosed that he shared the listing with longtime acquaintances Hailey Bieber and Benny Blanco, who both expressed interest.

“I have this unusual connection. I grew up with Hailey Bieber, formerly Hailey Baldwin, and her family,” March shared. “Our parents are incredibly close. They collaborated on church projects and even celebrated Thanksgiving and holiday gatherings together. We even hosted a surprise birthday bash for her dad at my house years ago.”

He continued, “The other irony is that before real estate, I was in school for music and audio production, and Benny Blanco was my comrade.”

March found it “ironic” that they were the two interested parties, seeing as Hailey’s husband, Justin Bieber, and Blanco’s wife, Selena Gomez, have a storied history together (they famously dated on-and-off for about eight years before finding their forever partners).

“I sent them both the deal. So, that’s actually who I was shopping for on that unit,” March added. “I would say both sides’ teams were genuinely interested in knowing more about the deal and actually working very quickly towards it.”

Unfortunately for March, Zaitzeff quickly sold the space for asking price (and a $1.8 million commission) by the end of Episode 5—even Serhant couldn’t secure the lofty deal for his buyer. While he was “surprised” at how fast it went off the market, he also knew the condo was a rare catch.

“Yeah, that was definitely one of one,” March said. “It never comes up. You don’t get views [like that]. You don’t get outdoor space in the West Village. So, that was a really unique property. I think any hot celebrity would have wanted to snatch up, for sure.”

Owning Manhattan Season 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
