Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple, who became engaged during the November 2024 finale of The Golden Bachelorette, are opting for a leisurely approach to their wedding plans.
The couple — who famously fell in love on the hit reality show — took to Instagram on Monday, February 16, and posted a joint Q&A video in which they answered a question about when they planned to tie the knot.
The couple cited their desire to prioritize their adult children’s nuptials as the reason for their decision. Vassos, 63, is a mother to daughters Allison and Erica and sons Nicholas and Luke from her marriage to the late John Vassos. Meanwhile, Chapple, 62, has two children, Taylor and Tyler, with his former spouse.

“In 2025, Joan’s eldest son, Nick, had a major wedding celebration. With another child tying the knot this year, we’ve decided not to compete with their special events,” Chapple explained. “We’d rather let them enjoy their moment, so perhaps our wedding might happen in 2027.”
Vassos chimed in, “Yes, 2027. Hopefully, no other weddings will surprise us, although one of your sons might still have plans, so we’ll see!” she laughed. “Our children are at that stage in their lives, and their happiness is our priority.”
She concluded, “We’ll choose a time to get married when the spotlight isn’t on our kids’ weddings.”

When it comes to moving in together, Vassos predicts they “will probably keep our houses” — she lives in Maryland while Chapple is based in Kansas — and opt for a “love shack someplace.”
The duo, who filmed the Q&A while vacationing in Punta Cana, also discussed how they manage a long-distance relationship.
Chapple noted that he and Vassos “talk every day” and “see each other a lot.”
“We kind of meet up in other places, so it’s actually been really fun doing it the way we’re doing it,” Vassos said. “I don’t think we’re ready to stop that yet. The long distance actually makes getting together really fun.”
