A shot has been fired into the window of a classroom at a school in Sydney’s south-west.
No students or teachers have been injured and the school at Macquarie Fields was not placed into lockdown.
NSW Police said emergency services went to the school at 12.45pm after reports a “classroom window had been broken by a metal projectile”.
“A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident was commenced,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“Investigations have revealed that the object is a small calibre bullet, which has been seized and will be forensically examined by specialist police.”
A parent at the school told 9News it was “a scary incident”, as his daughter’s room was close to where the bullet was found.
9News understands families were sent a letter just after 4pm saying children had been removed from the classroom.
The letter did not tell parents and caregivers it was a bullet that was shot through the window.
