Chris Brown is set to make his first trip to Australia since he had his visa application denied on ‘character grounds’ in 2015 after pleading guilty to attacking his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
Daily Mail Australia can reveal that the American singer, 33, will bring his ‘Under the Influence’ tour Down Under in mid-2023.
A well-placed industry insider let slip Chris has been working with officials to make sure he would be allowed into the country and will soon announce dates for Australia and New Zealand dates tour dates.

‘He’s been wanting to come back to Australia for ages. It’s all locked in and his visa is approved. He’s spent the past few months working with officials to make sure he is allowed in,’ said the source.
Set to kick off in February 2023, Brown will first take his tour to Europe, making stops in London, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam.
Taking to social media over the weekend, Brown said he ‘hasn’t forgotten’ about Australia, Japan or Brazil and hinted he would be dropping dates soon.
The Grammy award winner is set to pocket millions when he headlines shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth before playing shows in Auckland.
He last performed in Australia as part of his F.A.M.E. Tour in 2011.
Brown was forced to cancel his 2015 One Hell Of A Nite Australia and New Zealand tour after being denied an entry Visa.

The singer was formally denied on character grounds after he pleaded guilty to attacking his then girlfriend, the pop singer Rihanna, in 2009.
The performer was issued with a formal notice that his visa application would be denied and given 28 days to appeal the decision, but decided not to.
Ticketek Australia released a statement confirming the cancellation, stating: ‘Chris Brown’s December 2015 tour in both Australia and New Zealand will not take place’.

‘Mr Brown and the promoters both remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future,’ it read.

Weeks earlier Brown took to Twitter to address the issue for the first time after it became publicly known that he had struggled to be approved entry.
‘I would be more than grateful to come to Australia to raise awareness about domestic violence,’ he wrote to his 15.2 million followers at the time.
‘I’m not the pink elephant in the room anymore. My life mistakes should be a wake-up call for everyone. Showing the world that mistakes don’t define you. Trying to prevent spousal abuse’.

He went on to add: ‘The youth don’t listen to parents nor do they listen to PSA’s [public service announcements]. The power that we have as Entertainers can change lives.’
Australia’s then minister for immigration Peter Dutton confirmed the singer was issued with a Notice Of Intention To Consider Refusal, with spokesperson stating: ‘People to whom these notices are issued have 28 days to present material as to why they should be given a visa to enter Australia.’
Activist group GetUp, which endorsed the ban on Brown entering Australia, said the move sent a strong signal that the government is willing to condemn violence against women.

‘Australia is at a crisis point with men’s violence against women,’ GetUp campaigner Sally Rugg said.
Then Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull found himself being questioned about Brown’s tour appearances Down Under.
His feelings were quite clear about the singer when he said: ‘This is a government that is not afraid to say no’.
