The vision – captured in the riverside suburb of Toowong and posted to social media yesterday – shows a white Volkswagen cross onto the opposite side of the road before slamming into an oncoming car.

The hatchback then rolled on its side, narrowly missing a nearby pedestrian.

It’s the latest in a string of recent road accidents along the nation’s east coast.

Dashcam footage of the incident showed the white van drive onto a median strip, in a suspected bid to overtake traffic at an intersection ahead.
