Human Remains Discovered During Search for Missing Brisbane Man Following Torture Allegations

Police believe they have located human remains in the rural town of Maidenwell in Queensland’s South Burnett region.

The remains are yet to be formally identified, however, investigators have contacted Burow’s family.

The 56-year-old cybersecurity expert disappeared from his home in Kelvin Grove on August 20 and hasn’t contacted family since.

Police charged two men with his torture and scoured multiple crime scenes including a property in Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast last week.

Anthony Perrett, 38, and Billy Howard, 26, have been remanded in custody, charged with torture.

Detectives this week released vision of three “vehicles of interest”.

The cars were a black 2010 BMW X3 with Queensland registration 802NX4, a black 2011 Ford Ranger utility with false Queensland registration 257LX8 and a silver 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander wagon with Queensland registration 385KU2.

Anyone who has seen the vehicles or has relevant footage or dashcam of the vehicles in the Brisbane, Ipswich, Yarraman, Blackbutt and Sunshine Coast areas between Thursday August 21 and Tuesday August 26 is urged to contact police.

A Crime Stoppers report was received regarding a fire in the Blackbutt area about 4am on August 26 following the appeal.

The remains were found at one of the crime scenes in Maidenwell.

Two new crime scenes in Maidenwell and Moore were declared yesterday afternoon.
