Emergency crews are responding to a suspected shark attack in the Swan River in Western Australia.

It is believed the incident took place just after 3.30pm local time (6.30pm AEDT) at North Fremantle, south of Perth.

Paramedics are currently at the scene.

The extent of the wounded person’s injuries are not known at this time.
