In the aftermath, an 11-year-old girl traveling in the Corolla was rushed to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition due to life-threatening injuries.
A four-year-old boy who was also in the Corolla sustained serious injuries, though they are not considered life-threatening, and he has been hospitalized.
The driver of the Corolla, a 38-year-old woman from Knoxfield, suffered minor injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Another passenger, a 38-year-old man also from Knoxfield, fortunately escaped the accident without any injuries.
The two male occupants of the Nissan, who stopped at the scene, suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
