Concerns for the 25-year-old Chinese national’s welfare led police to attend a hotel on Kent Street at 3pm on December 7.

Police said they believe he entered the stairwell three days earlier on December 4 at 9pm.

“Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the man, which is believed to be suspicious,” police said in a statement.

Police are asking anyone who many have seen the man before his death to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The man is described as being of Asian appearance, wearing a black crew neck t-shirt, black jeans and khaki-coloured work boots.
