Seventeen-year-old girl faces attempted murder charges following shooting of 42-year-old man in the chest

A teenage girl has been charged after a man was shot in the chest, north of Brisbane.

The 42-year-old man was rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition after being shot in the chest in a car park on Lakefield Drive in North Lakes, Moreton Bay, last night.

Emergency services were called at 9.40pm.

Queensland Police said the man had an “interaction” with three men and a teenage girl.

Police arrested a teenage girl in Riverview at 2am this morning.

The 17-year-old from Windsor has been charged with one count each of attempt to murder, possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons and authority required to possess explosives.

She was refused police bail and is due to appear in Ipswich Children’s Court today.

The three men, who police believe were allegedly involved in the incident, remain on the run.

Police said there is no threat to public safety.

An Audi Q5 driven by the alleged offenders has been seized by police.
