Tara Reid was the first celebrity to quit the competition on Monday’s episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test on Fox.
The 47-year-old actress after complaining that her gear was too heavy gave up her armband and left on the second day followed by Blac Chyna, 35, and Dez Bryant, 34.
The three were among 14 personalities from sports and entertainment who agreed to undergo military training by special forces operators in freezing temperatures in South Island, New Zealand.
‘Everyone wants to be a commando until it’s time to do it in sub-zero temperatures,’ said Chief Instructor Rudy Reyes, a former Marine.
The episode titled Exposure opened on day two of the training with all the recruits including Jack Osbourne, Tara, JoJo Siwa, Dez , Tyler Cameron, Savannah Chrisley, Blac Chyna, Brian Austin Green, Robert Horry, Erin Jackson, Bode Miller, Kelly Rizzo and Nick Viall waking up and with some talking about how hard it had been to sleep in the military cots.

Meanwhile, the trainers were discussing how Blac Chyna, who insisted that she wanted to be known by her real name Angela White instead of her brand name, had an attitude and had ostracized herself from the others.
Tara was told she would be the duty recruit and would be responsible to make sure that the others were ready to go on time and all recruits got in a truck for their next test. They then had to trek across the mountain terrain carrying their 30-pound packs, but Tara kept falling down.
‘This backpack…it’s so heavy,’ Tara said. ‘I can’t get up.’
‘Get up!’ Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, an ex-SAS Sergeant Major, yelled at her. ‘It’s pathetic, move!’
The other recruits helped her as much as possible. Vanderpump Rules reality star Tom Sandoval, 40 was ordered to carry her backpack. Angela, 35, also started falling behind and kept saying that her knees hurt.
‘Biggest problem is your attitude, not your knees,’ Billy said.
‘I’m telling you that I’m injured,’ Angela said. ‘I’m not about to hurt myself for nobody.’
Angela said she was determined not to fail.

Too heavy: ‘This backpack…it’s so heavy,’ Tara said. ‘I can’t get up’
The recruits were then told they had to enter a frozen lake, fully submerge under icy water and then recite information to prove that they could maintain composure in life-threatening conditions. The recruits had been given a list of military orders 12 hours earlier that they were told to memorize. They had to recall the orders while they were in the icy water.
Tara went first.
‘I’m stronger than people think,’ Tara said.
Țara submerged but couldn’t remember the first military mnemonic order. Tara failed and was pulled from the freezing water after a minute and a doctor helped her change out of her wet clothes.
Jovon Q, directing staff and former Navy SEAL, asked Tom Sandoval why he had his nails painted. Sandoval said it was because he was in a band that was touring.
‘One of the big reasons why I’m here is I let down my family and other people whose last name’s Sandoval,’ Sandoval said tearfully in a confessional. ‘I’ve tarnished the name and I want to bring some honor back to that name.’
Sandoval was referring to his months-long affair with Vanderpump Rules castmate Raquel Leviss, 29, that they engaged in behind the back of his longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix, 38.
Sandoval went next. Sandoval remembered the mnemonic, recited it on time and passed. Savannah Chrisley, 25, also passed the test as did singer JoJo Siwa, 20; Jack Osbourne, 37; and former Los Angeles Lakers star Robert Horry, 53, among others.

Failed it: Țara submerged but couldn’t remember the first military mnemonic order and failed
Former NFL star pro bowler Dez was scared of water even though he had a pool at his house. He submerged and passed but struggled with the exposure. Angela was the last recruit to take the plunge but couldn’t remember the mnemonic and failed.
‘I’m about to go home,’ Angela said when they got back to camp. ‘My knees are done.’
The instructors put a hood over Angela’s head for a tactical interrogation. Billy told Angela that she had a bad attitude and that they wanted her to open up.
‘I’ve always been by myself and on my own,’ Angela said.
Instructor Jovon told her that he also grew up in Washington DC and didn’t have his mother or his father, but that he doesn’t reflect anger at other people. Angela started crying.
‘This course is designed to strip you back to your raw self, so you can find out who you are,’ Billy said. ‘Drop the defenses, drop the barriers.’
Back at camp, Robert was worried about not being able to say goodbye to his father who had dementia and was in hospice. Dez was missing his 13-year-old son’s birthday.
‘I never missed his birthday,’ Dez said.
‘I’m not going to last much longer,’ Tara said.
The group then had to gather for their next task.
Water test: Tyler Cameron took part in the freezing water test
‘My bag is so heavy,’ Tara said. ‘I can’t do it. My back’s killing me. It should be per weight per person. It’s not fair. I’m really in pain and no one cares.’
‘It is fair because everyone has to carry the exact same thing,’ Jovon said.
‘This thing is a monster on my back and I don’t want to do it anymore,’ Tara said halfway through Day Two. ‘I’m done.’
‘These recruits have to understand that winning is a conscious decision,’ Jovon said. ‘Winners will always find a way to win, while quitters will always look for a reason to leave.’
Tara was the first to voluntarily withdraw. Only 13 remained and they were brought to a high security dam and were shown how to race head first down the dam’s wall.
Robert and Dez raced down the wall together first. They climbed over the wall of the dam strapped to wires and then leaned forward. Billy yelled at them to start walking and race down to the bottom. JoJo beat Brian Austin Green, 50, in their race to the bottom.
Sandoval beat Nick Viall, 43, to the bottom. Jack Osbourne, 37, beat Tyler Cameron, 30, to the bottom.
‘Most fun you can have with your clothes on,’ Jack said.
Ski racer Bode Miller, 45, went up against Savannah Chrisley, 26.
‘I’m tough,’ Savannah said. ‘My journey has been a hell of a hard one, but it’s also taught me strength and resilience.’
Savannah looked over the edge scared.
‘Even though I’m scared inside, I’m going to keep going because I don’t lose,’ Savannah said.
Once she got over the edge, Savannah floundered and asked them to pull her back. Then she started throwing up.
‘I need to get out!’ Savannah said.
‘The only way you are getting off this wall is to go down it,’ Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox, a former SBS operator, said.
Savannah kept throwing up.
‘She emptied her guts there,’ Foxy said smiling.

Angela was the last person to go and they asked for a volunteer to go again against her. Dez volunteered.
‘I’m too scared to do it, I’m not going to lie,’ Angela said.
Angela cried as she went over the edge and then said she couldn’t do it and handed over her armband quitting after two days on the course.
Dez, who had been hanging off the bridge waiting for Angela then did the course by himself. When he got the bottom, he screamed about his stomach hurting and yelled for them to get the harness off of him.
‘Get this f***ing off of me!,’ Dez shouted.
‘We are in control of you, you are not in control,’ Chief Instructor Rudy Reyes yelled. ‘Throw his a** in the water’ .
‘I am out,’ Dez said. ‘F*** this s***. I’m gone!’
Billy told him to hand his armband to the instructor.
‘Stop talking to me!,’ Dez said.
Dez ripped off his armband, threw it to the ground and walked away. The others were shocked that Dez walked off.
‘He came out swinging,’ Rudy said. ‘I’ve never seen somebody lose it like that.’
Left early: The test was too much for Blac Chyna who also departed on day two

Dez came back to speak to the instructors at camp and told them that he was disappointed with his behavior.
‘I’ve got to control my emotions,’ Dez said. ‘If anything that I want to fix about myself, it’s that.’
Dez was the third recruit to leave and then only 11 remained.
Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test will return next Wednesday on Fox.
