A Spider-Man suit found at a beachside property located 20 minutes from where William Tyrrell vanished in 2014 is not linked to the missing boy, police have confirmed.

On Monday, authorities were alerted to the discovery of a Spider-Man costume at a residence on Beach Place in Dunbogan, located east of Kendall on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales.

Following a search of the premises yesterday, no additional items of significance were uncovered.

Subsequently, the costume underwent thorough forensic analysis by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

Investigators have now determined that the outfit is unrelated to the William Tyrrell case.

William was last observed wearing a Spider-Man costume while playing outside on September 12, 2014, at his foster grandmother’s home.

A famous photo of him wearing the outfit has become the defining image of the ongoing missing person investigation.

Despite extensive police investigations, which continue to this day, no trace of the then-toddler has ever been found and no charges relating to his disappearance have been laid.

The NSW Government is offering a $1 million reward for information that leads to the recovery of William Tyrrell.

There was a renewed call for information last year on the 10-year anniversary of William’s disappearance.

A $1 million reward for any information which solves the case remains in place.

An inquest into the mystery disappearance took place earlier this year after it was adjourned in 2020 for developments in the police investigation.

A coroner will set down a date to deliver her findings.

Anybody with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
