Divers have successfully retrieved the body of a man thought to have fallen from a French research ship, which was docked in Hobart, Antarctica.

The missing individual, in his 20s, was last seen by fellow crew members of the vessel Perseverance, who reported his absence at 3:55 a.m. on Tuesday.

A police search was quickly launched at the Sullivans Cove waterfront, and the man’s body was located shortly before 7:45 a.m.
