Netflix’s newest fantasy series, the eagerly anticipated Wednesday arrived on the platform earlier this week to rave reviews from critics and fans alike. As of writing, Wednesday has a 71% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and an 87% average audience score. It is also currently the No. 1 TV show in the US.
Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega, follows the deeply disturbed teenager as she begins a new life at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday is the teenage daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams who has psychic abilities. As she adjusts to her new surroundings, she meets some locals, including coffee shop worker Tyler (Hunter Doohan).
The series also stars Christini Ricci, who previously played Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family (1991) and multiple other Addams Family projects. The veteran actress took on a different role in the Netflix series. She played Marilyn Thornhill, the only normie teacher at the Nevermore Academy, who also serves as den mother. Other members of the Wednesday cast include Game of Thrones and The Sandman star Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane (CSI: Vegas), Percy Hynes White (The Gifted), and Joy Sunday (Good Trouble).
