According to an ABC press release, American Idol men will compete against American Idol women on Celebrity Family Feud season 12. The men’s team will consist of season 7 runner-up David Archuleta, season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken, season 2 winner Ruben Studdard, season 23 winner Jamal Roberts, and season 7 winner David Cook. The women’s team features season 5 finalist Kellie Pickler, season 18 contestant Lauren Spencer Smith, season 22 winner Abi Carter, season 16 winner Maddie Poppe, and season 10 finalist Pia Toscano.

Celebrity Family Feud season 12 will feature several other superstar contestants, including AFC Champions (Ray Lewis Jr., Terrell Suggs, Hines Ward, Melvin Blount and Rodney Harrison) vs. NFC Champions (Michael Singletary, Isaac Bruce, Landon Dickerson, Amani Toomer and Milton Williams). In addition, there will be an episode featuring Team USA Women’s Hockey (Laila Edwards, Hilary Knight, Hannah Bilka, Cayla Barnes and Caroline Harvey) vs. Team USA Men’s Hockey (Griffin LaMarre, Jack Wallace, Declan Farmer, Connor Hellebuyck and Dylan Larkin).

Celebrity Family Feud is always a hilarious adventure. With Steve Harvey as host and questions that force the celebrities to think outside the box, the game inevitably leads to plenty of belly laughs. It’s always so much fun to see celebrity contestants in a different environment that challenges them in new ways. It’s going to be a real treat to see the American Idol finalists competing, especially David and David, and Ruben and Clay, who battled against each other during their finales, but are now on the same team. The survey says that Celebrity Family Feud and American Idol are the perfect combination.
