Hannah’s journey to winning American Idol was marked by her standout audition, where she performed an original piece titled “String Cheese.” This heartfelt song, inspired by her battle with postpartum depression after the birth of her youngest son, resonated widely and garnered over 120 million views, securing her position as a favorite.
Throughout the competition, Hannah showcased her unique country flair in her performances, choosing a mix of genres. Her song list included not only country hits but also classics like Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide,” “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog, and Alicia Keys’ “No One,” which she performed in the finale under Keys’ mentorship. During the final episode, she delivered her original tracks, “Married Into This Town” and “String Cheese,” and teamed up with country legend Lee Ann Womack for a duet of “I Hope You Dance.” Following her victory, Hannah revisited the inspirational “At the Cross (Love Ran Red)” by Chris Tomlin.
