Veteran actress Sally Kirkland has been moved to hospice care in Palm Springs as she continues her struggle with dementia.

Her representative, Michael Greene, shared this update with TMZ, mentioning that Cody Galloway, a close friend and former student of Kirkland, is providing support during this difficult time.

The 84-year-old Oscar nominee has faced numerous health challenges in recent years.

Back in November 2024, a GoFundMe campaign was launched after Kirkland endured multiple fractures, including four bones in her neck, her right wrist, and left hip. During her recovery, she also encountered two life-threatening infections.

As medical expenses soared beyond her insurance coverage, financial assistance became necessary.

Last month, organizers of the fundraiser posted a message.

“Hi: Sally sends her love to everyone. It has been a challenging few months for Sally as her health continues to struggle,” it read. “She had a fall in the shower, when she was left unattended; injuring her ribs, foot, along with cuts and bruises.”

“Sally is now receiving 24/7 care in a specialized facility, that is providing wonderful safety and care,” the message continued. “We are continuing to try raise money to cover the gaps between income and care costs. Thank you for all the love, support, and care for Sally.”

On Friday, a message from the organizers shared that the Hollywood legend was in hospice care.

“Thank you for all your love and support. Sally is grateful for your kindness and love. Sally is on hospice now and is resting comfortably. Please hold and send the light for Sally,” the comment reads.

Kirkland was a member of Andy Warhol’s Factory circle and appeared in avant-garde productions off-Broadway.

She received raves for her role as a former actress in the 1987 comedy-drama “Anna,” which earned her the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress.

She also won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.

Kirkland has been in over 200 movies and films, including “Charlie’s Angels, “JFK,” and “Bruce Almighty.”
