It’s fun and satisfying to watch people fix up a house, decorate it perfectly, and then find homeowners who will hopefully enjoy it for years to come. For many years in the 2010s, every episode of the HGTV series Flip Or Flop followed this formula. And the show was a huge hit. Hosts Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa earned a ton of money on the show. Christina Hall has a higher net worth than her ex now and has continued to do incredibly well.
Christina seems like a natural fit for reality TV. She smiles a lot, has a talent for creating gorgeous spaces, and is friendly. But even though Flip Or Flop made her famous, Christina Hall might not have loved every moment of filming Flip Or Flop.
What Happened To Christina Hall On The Flip Or Flop Set?
Fans are curious about why Flop or Flop went off the air because the show was so popular. Once Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa announced that they were getting divorced in 2017, it seemed unclear if the show would continue. After all, watching a renovation show featuring a married couple is entertaining. But watching the same type of series about a pair who are now going through a rough divorce? That’s not quite as much fun.
Although Christina earned a great salary on Flip Or Flop and became a huge star as a result, it doesn’t seem like filming the show was always a good experience.
Christina would burst into tears during filming sometimes, according to Sheknows.com, if her then-husband upset her.
Christina Hall hasn’t said anything about this in interviews, however. But Flip Or Flop fans noticed that sometimes, Tarek seemed to make digs at Christina during episodes.
Fans felt that there was a shift in Tarek’s behavior on camera after he and Christina broke up. Several said that he would be kinder about her design ideas when they were married. But once they were in the process of getting divorced, he stopped acting like that.
Replying in a Reddit thread about Tarek’s behavior on Flip Or Flop, Redditor @pamazon63 said, “Tarek was/is so nit picky and rude. it’s not quite as bad now but right after they split it was hard to watch.”
Redditor @pami_dahl said, “at this point they’re business partners as opposed to life partners. Before the divorce ut was like he was biting his tongue to avoid a fight, now he just says whatever spiteful thing that comes to mind.”
While there will always be challenges and rough spots when spouses work together, Christina has stayed positive about Flip Or Flop. Christina talked about filming the show in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in December 2022 when the reality show was wrapping up.
Christina said, “I learned a lot along the way about business, about design, about television. I really kind of grew up with that show. It was a great experience.”

Christina told Entertainment Tonight that rather than have any “regrets” about Flip Or Flop, she feels fine about it.
Christina said, “I think it filled its purpose. I can’t look back like that and think about things that way. It doesn’t do anyone any good. I just learned a lot along the way and won’t make the same mistakes twice. I’m just grateful for where I am right now with my family and my career.”
Both Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa’s careers have blossomed as a result of Flip Or Flop. Christina seems to really enjoy making TV, and she has starred in several of her own shows, including Christina On The Coast.
Tarek filmed a special episode of Discovery+ about his wedding to Heather El Moussa called Tarek & Heather: The Big I Do. He also filmed four episodes of a show called Tarek’s Flip Side. And since 2020, he has been the host of his own show, Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa, along with The Flipping El Moussas alongside Heather.
What Was Filming The Final Flip Or Flop Season Like For Christina Hall And Tarek El Moussa?
Before Flip Or Flop went off the air, Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa seemed to do their best to be professional and finish the job. However, it seems that there was one time when their tough divorce made filming difficult.
Page Six reported that Tarek yelled at Christina one day. Sources say that he said that his now wife Heather El Moussa is prettier than her. According to Page Six, he said, “Look at me, look at me, look at me. It’s called winning. However, this hasn’t been confirmed.
According to People, a source said that Tarek felt badly about saying these things. The source told the publication, “They did get into a disagreement. Tarek lashed out and he’s super remorseful. They’re exes who share a history and children and a workplace, but outside of coparenting, they’re not friends.”
According to People, when Tarek and Christina were shooting their last Flip Or Flop episode, Tarek became upset about their different design ideas. He was frustrated that there was a pool in the backyard of the house that they were working on.
Tarek said, “I hate dealing with flips that have pools because they can cost a fortune.” When Christina had some thoughts on what to do, he said “No” and “Fill it up with water.” He then walked away.
While things weren’t always perfect between Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa on the set of Flip Or Flop, it seems that they wanted to say goodbye to the show properly. They definitely could have quit the show as soon as they shared the news that they were getting a divorce. Instead, they wanted to finish what they started.
It’s safe to say that when Tarek and Christina first began filming Flip Or Flop, they didn’t know that it would become so successful. And they likely wouldn’t have pictured that they would also split up. But even though both Flip Or Flop and their marriage are over, Tarek and Christina have built great careers since.
