Highlights

  • Danny Masterson’s career took a turn following a sexual assault scandal, resulting in him being fired from The Ranch.
  • Masterson’s net worth has taken a hit, going down to $8 million, making him one of the poorest cast members of That ’70s Show.
  • In contrast, his co-stars, such as Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, have much higher net worths due to successful movie and TV careers.

That ’70s Show was one of the most popular sitcoms of the late 90s and early 2000s. Even today, the show is still so popular that Netflix decided to create a reboot series titled That ‘90s Show. It’s no wonder that this series kickstarted the career of its main cast, including Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher, and Mila Kunis.

However, not all the That ‘70s Show stars had the same luck. Danny Masterson, for example, didn’t go on to become a big movie star like Kutcher or Grace did. However, he did appear on several popular shows and movies, including The Bridge to Nowhere, The Chicago 8, and The Ranch.

However, his career took a turn for the worse in 2017 after he was involved in a huge scandal. Now that the actor has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison, his net worth is nothing compared to that of his That ‘70s Show co-stars.

In 2017, several women came up with allegations of sexual assault against former That 70s Show star Danny Masterson. Following the scandal, Masterson was fired from The Ranch, in which he co-starred alongside Ashton Kutcher.

“As a result of ongoing discussions, Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of The Ranch. [Monday] was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him,” Netflix revealed in a statement published in 2017. At the time, some believed that Netflix had pulled out That 70s Show from streaming due to the allegations against Masterson, but the streaming company denied these claims.

Two years later, after the first allegations against Masterson were made known to the public, four women filed a formal lawsuit against the actor and the Church of Scientology for invading their privacy and attempting to obstruct justice since they had reported the actor. This led to Masterson being arrested and charged with three felony counts of rape in 2020.

Although Masterson was set free after paying a $3 million bail during the first trial, his career didn’t improve. The actor was the only original cast member not to appear on Netflix’s That ‘90s Show and didn’t appear on any new projects since he was fired from The Ranch.

A new trial against Danny Masterson was held in Los Angeles, earlier this year. On May 31st, the former That 70s Show star was convicted of two of the three counts of rape, with the jury hung 8 against 4 in favor of convicting him on the third charge. Ultimately, the actor was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison and is now incarcerated at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles.

Between a $3 million bail, costly legal fees, and the fact that he hasn’t appeared in any new projects since 2018, it’s clear that Masterson’s net worth took a huge hit. Plus, the actor lost even more money after his wife, Bijou Phillips, divorced him shortly after his sentence.

Christopher Masterson Is Living A Different Life Following His Brother Danny’s Scandal

After Danny Masterson’s crimes surfaced, his brother Christopher Masterson’s life dramatically changed.

Today, Masterson has a net worth of $8 million. According to The Richest, Masterson had a net worth of about $16 million back in 2019. This means that the actor has lost half of his wealth since the first allegations against him were made public.

Although Masterson could still be paid royalties for That ‘70s Show, he won’t be working on any new projects soon now that he’s been sentenced to at least 30 years in prison. With no way to make more money, there’s no doubt that his current wealth is bound to take a hit in the following years.

With his $8 million net worth, Danny Masterson is one of the poorest cast members of That ‘70s Show. Only actors such as Debra Jo Rupp and Don Stark have lower net worth than him. The rest of his co-stars have much more money.

For instance, Ashton Kutcher currently has a $200 million net worth. After appearing in so many successful movies and TV series, it’s no wonder that he’s the richest cast member of That ‘70s Show nowadays. Mila Kunis is the second-richest, with an outstanding $75 million net worth thanks to her work in movies such as Black Swan and Bad Moms. It also helps that she’s voiced Meg in the animated series Family Guy since 1999.

After them, there are Wilder Valderrama, Tommy Chong, and Topher Grace, all of whom have a $20 million net worth. It’s surprising that, despite making millions as the main character on That ‘70s Show, Grace is far from the richest member of the cast. What’s more surprising is that Laura Prepon only has a $12 million net worth, despite making millions towards the end of That ‘70s Show and appearing on popular shows like Orange Is the New Black.
