True to form for a captivating reality TV series, Love Island has delivered its fair share of drama throughout its run. The American version kicked off in 2019, sparking both criticism and acclaim. Despite mixed reviews, the appeal proved strong enough to sustain the U.S. rendition through multiple seasons, with the excitement currently peaking at Season 8. This season, in particular, has viewers buzzing, especially with star Alannah Keyser at the center of a heated controversy.

Unfortunately, like the other headlining couples from the show, Kyra Green and Cashel Barnett broke up permanently after a will-they-or-won't-they break, though Kyra did build a career out of her reality TV fame.
According to a June 2, 2026, Cosmopolitan article, Murphy wound up getting together with Johnnie Garcia from Season 5.
As for the rest of the first season's cast, here's what happened to their love stories post-Love Island. While reality show couples can be very unpredictable, Garcia and Murphy appear to still be together as of this writing.

Elizabeth Weber and Zac Mirabelli were Love Island's success story, sticking together through the end of the show and winning the grand prize. Shortly after cashing in on their $100K prize, however, Elizabeth and Zac went their separate ways.
Both halves of the former couple posted on Instagram to announce the breakup news, confirming that their split was friendly.
While Weber and Mirabelli didn't last, she appears to be very confident that her current relationship will. In September 2025, Nashville Bride Guide reported that Weber had gotten engaged to Gianni Settino, "an analytical software engineer with a French-Canadian background." The outlet noted that the couple were set up by mutual friends.
Alexandra Stewart And Dylan Curry Drifted Apart
Alexandra Stewart and Dylan Curry were the runner-up contestants on Love Island, but their love didn't last for long after the cameras stopped rolling. At first, fans followed their loved-up social media feeds, but over time, their appearances together slowed until they weren't tagging or posting pics of each other anymore.
In November 2019, they announced their breakup on social media.
Caroline Viehweg And Raymond Gantt Threw Shade
Caro and Ray were something of a surprise couple on Love Island, mostly because Caro seemed determined to have just about every guy she interacted with. Ultimately, she and Ray chose each other and were the third-place finishers in the series.
After her appearance on Love Island, Caro Viehweg's life changed, but not in the way fans expected. She and Ray seemed to have some tough times, living separately due to geographical differences, then breaking up and mutually throwing shade on social media.
Though the two appeared on Amazing Race together, by the time the show came out, they had been broken up for almost two years. There were also rumors that Ray would appear on yet another dating show, which earned him some criticism. Yet the show never came to fruition.
Since her reality show relationship ended, Caroline Viehweg has become a wife and mother. Monsters and Critics reported in December 2023 that she'd married Rene Lacad and was carrying their first child. More recently, she has been sharing about her second pregnancy on Instagram.
Raymond Gantt later starred in Perfect Match Season 3 and fans would see him bond with Rachel Recchio. However, Marie Claire reported in August 2025 that they didn't become a couple.
Emily Salch And Weston Richey Quietly Split
Fans were still rooting for Emily Salch and Weston Richey at the end of Love Island season one, and the fourth-place finishers seemed to have a fighting chance. Yet a short while after the series stopped filming, the two drifted apart.
Only, it didn't sound as gentle or kind as the other breakups from the show. Not only did Emily and Weston break up quietly—no 'mutual split' social media posts for them—they don't seem to have remained friends.
For Emily's part, her "breakup announcement" was a simple nod to spending the next Valentine's Day after the show ended alone. It's unclear exactly what went wrong, but clearly, Emily and Weston were not alone in their failed relationship.
Weston Richey may still find love on reality TV yet, as he joined the cast of Perfect Match Season 4. As The Tab reported in May 2026, he is looking for a wife who he could raise children who are athletes with, or as he was quoted as saying, “D1 babies.”
Are Any Of The UK Love Island Couples Still Together?

Many of the relationships on Love Island's multiple seasons, whether in the United States or the United Kingdom, have fizzled out shortly after their respective seasons ended. That's not to say the show has been wholly unsuccessful; some couples from the show's recent seasons (2022, 2023, and 2024) are still together. At least, for now.
But there are a handful of couples whose love stories never ended after Love Island did; it's largely the UK couples, whose seasons began before the US show ever aired.
Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen, for example, appeared on Love Island in 2016; they later got married and have a baby together. The same happened with Cara Delahoyde and Nathan Massey; their 2016 run on Love Island ended with a marriage and two kids.
Jess Shears and Dom Lever also got married and had kids, so did Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt, and Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, though the two recently announced their split.
The show may not have a completely terrible track record, at least on the UK side, and fans are clearly very invested in seeing how each person's story plays out on the show. It's safe to say that even with a track record of countless breakups, the show isn't going anywhere.
