Brie Larson is most well-known for portraying Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but she has a long and successful career outside of superhero movies. She began acting at only six years, she even became the youngest student to join San Francisco’s “American Conservatory Theater.”
Since then, Larson appeared in numerous films and television shows over the years. She’s also tried to make her luck in the music industry, although Larson’s music career wasn’t very long or successful.

Brie Larson Has Been Acting Since She Was a Child
Brie Larson started acting while she was still in middle school. Her first acting gig was in a 1998 comedy sketch on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. But she made her television debut portraying Emily Steward in the WB sitcom Raising Dad in 2001. And then, she would star in one of Disney Channel’s most-watched original movies of all time, Right on Track (2003), and then in the 2004 teen comedy Sleepover.
Since then, this actress has appeared in numerous films and television series. According to IMDb, Larson has more than 70 acting credits under her belt. Some of her most famous work includes the independent movie The Beautiful Ordinary (2007), the coming-of-age drama Tanner Hall (2009), her role in Showtime’s breakout drama United States of Tara (2009), the 2015 drama Room, several MCU’s films, and, most recently, Fast & Furious X (2023).
Throughout her career, Larson has won various awards, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Plus, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world back in 2019.
In addition to acting, Larson has ventured into writing and direction. The MCU star has co-written and co-directed two short films and, in 2017, she made her feature film directorial debut with the independent comedy-drama Unicorn Store. She also produced the virtual reality series The Messy Truth VR Experience (2020), for she won a Primetime Emmy Award. As if this wasn’t enough, Larson often uses her celebrity status and fame to draw attention to relevant political and social issues, becoming an advocate for many different causes.

Brie Larson Prefers to Keep Her Romantic Life a Secret
Although she’s been in the industry for most of her life, Brie Larson has managed to maintain most aspects of her personal life private, especially when it comes to her romantic life. Throughout the years, the Captain Marvel star has dated several people but has chosen to keep most aspects of her relationships away from the spotlight.
Larson’s first public relationship was with Hannah Montana actor Cody Linley, who she dated for about a year, from 2006 to 2007. Then, Brie dated John Patrick Amedori, who is better known for his roles in Dear White People, Hindsight, and The Vatican Tapes. Larson and Amedori dated for four years, from 2008 until 2012, but it’s unclear why they ultimately broke up.
Of all of Brie’s previous relationships, her most public and serious one was with musician Alex Greenwald, who is the lead singer of the band Phantom Planet. The pair began dating in 2013 and then got engaged in 2016. However, they broke up their three-year engagement in 2019. “They have taken a step back from their engagement for the time being but they remain close,” a source told People at the time.
Following her split from Greenwald, Larson began dating actor and filmmaker Elijah Allan-Blitz. The two made their relationship public when they attended the 92nd Annual Academy Awards together in February 2020, but it would seem that the pair has already broken up.
Brie Larson Admits She Wants to Have Children Someday
Brie Larson prefers to keep her personal life away from the spotlight. But this didn’t stop her from sharing what her love life looks like as of today. In March 2023, told Harper’s Bazaar that she’s living and enjoying the single life. Plus, she shared some of her hopes and dreams for the future.
“I don’t have a next job. I don’t have a home. I don’t have a partner. I don’t have a plan. I’m just completely open,” she revealed.
She then admitted that she’d like to have kids in the future, though “how that happens, when that happens, in what capacity—I don’t know.”
But, for now, she’s happy enjoying her life, “I start to get back into What do I like to eat? What time do I wake up? What time do I go to sleep?” and exploring the world, going to art museums, and replenishing her creativity. “I have nothing left to give unless I go through this period of adventure,” she said.
