GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes posted a photograph of himself from three years ago on Instagram this morning (Thursday, May 29) before deleting it just minutes later.
The image showed the former This Morning host, looking smart in a suit and black trench coat, standing in what looked to be a car park in front of a DMC-12, the iconic sports car made famous in the Back to the Future films. He appeared to be standing in front of a TV camera, and a light used by the crew could be seen in the background.
While he deleted the snap from Instagram, he uploaded the same image onto his X account in light of his 1.1million followers with a heartbreaking caption.
The 65-year-old penned: “Great picture popped up from three years [ago] but it’s made me sad – I could walk.
He added a sad-faced emoji before signing off: “Got to redouble my efforts.”
The GB News star has been struggling for several years due to chronic back pain, particularly following surgery for slipped discs in 2022.
He previously said he is unable to walk unaided and relies heavily on a wheelchair or walker when he’s out and about.
Fans were quick to rally their support around the broadcaster, with one writing: “Great photo. I feel your pain. Cancer in the pelvis and both legs. Can’t even get a job in a charity shop as they are not insured!”
An understanding Eamonn responded: “Awful to hear that, Jimmy. Not fair.”
A second person added: “Lovely photo, sorry you are suffering from bad pain and walking problems.”
Another follower shared: “Keep fighting, Eamonn, a physio once told me, if your spinal cord is still intact and not damaged, you can get back on your feet again from any joint or back injury, wear and tear issues, etc. If you put in the work, also a positive mindset helps too I find.”
A supportive fan noted: “What a shame Eamonn… Keep up you’re good work.”
Despite his health setbacks, Eamonn is still able to host GB News Breakfast on his allocated weekdays alongside his co-stars.
