Emmy Rossum just keeps continuing to shock fans! Less than seven weeks after a surprise announcement that she had given birth to her son, the Shameless star showed off her rapid weight loss at a movie premiere.
Rossum wore a form-fitting turquoise Givenchy dress to The Crowded Room premiere. The dress was ruched on the right side, complete with a thigh-high slit. The look was finished with simple black strappy heels, leaf-shaped earrings, and Rossum’s cascading curls worn to the side.
While The Phantom of the Opera star was a vision in the gown, the conversation quickly went to the weight loss that Rossum has achieved in just seven weeks since giving birth. But given that this was the same scenario after giving birth to her daughter in May 2021, it should not have come as a surprise that Rossum was back in fight shape so soon after welcoming her son into the world. Just do not expect her to talk about it.
Emmy Rossum Does Not Let The Scale Define Her
Rossum has always had a healthy relationship with exercise and staying active which inspires fans to want to hit the gym. But when it came to stepping on a scale to have a number define whether she is going to have a good or bad day was something that became damaging to the Mystic River star’s psyche. And that was when Rossum decided to toss the scale completely.
“During my life the scale has told me that I’ve gained and lost, but that piece of metal doesn’t really know,” Rossum explained. “I think it’s vital that we stop focusing on unimportant things like a number, and start thinking of our real worth as what we’ve accomplished as well as things that make us unique and strong. Your appearance is just one part of you. It doesn’t determine who you are or what you’re capable of.”

By taking this approach to her health, Rossum focused on what her body was feeling like to help her tweak her food intake if necessary. And because of this, weight has become a non-issue.
How Emmy Rossum Lost Her Baby Weight So Quickly
Because Rossum does not want to focus on the process of weight loss as something that makes her happy or defines her, she does not speak out about her regime to lose weight. However, given that Rossum does suffer from celiac disease, it is a good bet that whole, fresh foods are part of what helped her to lose her baby weight so quickly.
In 2010, Rossum revealed that she suffered from celiac disease. As such, she cannot eat any foods that contain gluten or her autoimmune disease will flare up, making Rossum incredibly ill. Instead, a diet of proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables, rice, potatoes, and some protein-rich grains that do not contain gluten is what is on the menu.
Between eating these healthy foods and exercising, it would be fairly easy to lose the baby weight Rossum gained, versus being a celebrity who has admitted to using Ozempic for weight loss. No shortcuts or secrets. Just a healthy approach to nutrition that has allowed Rossum to bounce back in rapid form to her pre-baby body and weight.
