RHUGT Fans Slam Gizelle Bryant for Trying to Enforce a “No Spanish” Rule on Costars Marysol Patton and Alexia EchevarriaRHUGT Fans Slam Gizelle Bryant for Trying to Enforce a “No Spanish” Rule on Costars Marysol Patton and Alexia Echevarria

The Real Housewives of Potomac star, Gizelle Bryant, has found herself in hot water after she made what many Housewives fans are calling “ignorant” and culturally insensitive remarks towards her Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip season 3 costars, Marysol Patton and Alexia Echevarria, for speaking “Spanglish” during RHUGT’s premiere episode last week.

During the episode in question, Marysol and Alexia, were speaking Spanish in Gizelle’s presence leading the RHOP star to try and enforce a “No Spanish” rule as she didn’t want to feel “left out” of the conversation since she doesn’t speak the language.

The Real Housewives of Miami stars explained to Gizelle that speaking in their native tongue and “Spanglish” was in no way meant to exclude her, or anyone else for that matter, as that’s how they naturally speak in Miami and don’t even realize that they are doing it most of the time.

Needless to say, Gizelle’s remarks have not gone over well with fans.

“‘I HAVE A RULE, NO SPANISH’ @GizelleBryant #RHUGT3 If that is not the most KAREN thing to say! Please think about your narrow-minded silly words before you have an entire Culture against you! #LatinX #Triggered @Andy where’s the cancel button #WWHL,” one fan tweeted.

While another called Gizelle out for her tone-deaf and “disturbing” behavior.

“It’s a bit disturbing that @GizelleBryant would try to hush #Marysol & #Alexia for speaking their Native tongue, Spanish. Does she not know her own history of bigotry?! For SHAME!! #RHUGT3 #RHOP.”

Many fans expressed their disappointment in Gizelle’s comments adding that as a fellow minority, she should know better.

“Oh no no @GizelleBryant you DO NOT TELL people not to speak Spanish. Do you know how Latinos have been discriminated against for centuries and here you are doing it too? Girl! With your civil rights background I expected more from you. You owe some apologies! #RHOP #RHUGT,” another viewer criticized.

As of the writing of this post, Alexia nor Marysol, have publicly commented on Gizelle’s remarks.

Season 3 of The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip is currently airing on Peacock with new episodes dropping every Thursday.
