How Sutton Stracke Failed To Stand Up for Garcelle Beauvais During The RHOBH Reunion

The Real Housewives is always ripe for drama, and The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, a major branch of the franchise, is certainly no exception. Now in its 14th season, the show features many fan-favorite housewives and their lavish lives in the Los Angeles area.

There was a very unexpected moment of drama from the reality TV show at the recent Season 14 reunion, however. Fans were shocked to see Garcelle Beauvais come under fire—and not just that, but that her close friend Sutton Stracke seemed to say relatively quiet during the incident.

Garcelle And Sutton Were Close During The Season

One of the more wholesome parts of Season 14 was seeing Garcelle and Sutton’s friendship blossom. The two shared many sweet moments throughout the episodes, including when Sutton helped Garcelle navigate a U-haul truck to Oxnard, and another time when she introduced her good friend to her mother.

Considering this context, it makes it all the more surprising that Sutton didn’t appear to attempt to step in when Garcelle found herself in the hot seat during this week’s reunion. Another one of their cast members, Dorit Kemsley, started in on Garcelle for her comments that happened a few years back. Apparently, Garcelle had previously suggested that the robbery had been staged instead of real.

At first, Garcelle was unapologetic about the situation, saying that she was just speaking about her “instincts” and didn’t see what was so wrong with that. This seemed to anger Dorit even more, and she continued to lash out at her:

It’s based on nothing. There is no evidence or fact or any reason whatsoever for you to draw that conclusion, yet you can say it so casually, not considering once how that might make me, my husband, our family feel whatsoever about something as traumatic as that, Garcelle.

Sutton Failed To Come To Garcelle’s Defense

That wasn’t the last of Garcelle’s time in the hot seat, unfortunately. She got into another argument with cast member Kyle Richards about failing to share information about country star Morgan Wade possibly joining the show. Kyle, for her part, was irritated that Garcelle continued to push the issue. Garcelle pushed Kyle to give her an answer that would satisfy her:

Last year, when Morgan was part of the show, we met her, and all of a sudden, this year, you won’t bring her up. But there’s [sic] pictures in the press, and we’re just supposed to pretend it’s not happening. Is that reality?

This is when Kyle revealed she’d also come to Sutton about the matter in an off-camera moment. This clearly came as a surprise to Garcelle, who didn’t know about the two women’s conversation, and it quickly made her feel like she was being teamed up against.

Things at the reunion continued to escalate, with Garcelle saying she felt as if she’d lost an ally in Sutton and that there was some advanced “chess” going on behind her back, with other cast members speaking to the cameras without her knowledge. For Sutton’s part, she doubled down by telling Kyle that she had tried to respect her wishes throughout the season, making it even clearer that she wasn’t going to be backing Garcelle in the conversation.

It seems that the moment was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Garcelle, as she ended up walking out of the reunion event entirely. Since then, she’s also announced that she’s leaving the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills franchise entirely, taking to her personal Instagram page to inform viewers about her decision.

Garcelle assured her fans of several years that this wouldn’t be the last that they’d see of her. On top of teasing “the most exciting projects” that she has coming up, she was also candid about saying that she wanted to spend more time with her family going forward.

“One of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family, my boys. Their last year of high school is next year and I want to be a part of that,” she explained. “And Jaid is starting a new career, and I want to be a part of that, too,” she added. And, despite the friction at the reunion, Garcelle even took the time to thank her former costars for cheering her on and supporting her.
