The Traitors Season 4 saw an extraordinary victory by Rob Rausch, whose cunning strategy led him to triumph in the gripping murder mystery series. Renowned for his previous stint on Love Island USA and his career as a snake wrangler, Rob walked away with the entire $220,800 prize. As one of the original Traitors, Rob masterfully deceived the other participants right until the finale, including his close ally, Maura Higgins—a Faithful who came in second.
Rob’s victory marks a significant moment, as he is the first Traitor to win since Cirie Fields in the inaugural season. In contrast, the Faithful contestants prevailed in the subsequent seasons, with CT Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella sharing the prize in Season 2, and Dolores Catania, Dylan Efron, Ivar Mountbatten, and Gabby Windey splitting the winnings in Season 3.
Rob’s success in Season 4 was largely due to his cleverness and understated presence, which effectively diverted suspicion from him as a Traitor. He adeptly convinced his fellow players of his Faithful status, a belief he remarkably managed to instill in himself as well. This psychological trick formed the cornerstone of his strategy and serves as a key piece of advice for those looking to master the game in future seasons.
Throughout The Traitors season 4, Rob’s intelligence and quiet demeanor helped him to keep the focus off of himself as a Traitor. He was able to trick his fellow competitors into believing that he was a Faithful, but he surprisingly also convinced himself of the same thing, which was his strategy for winning the game, and his advice for future contestants.
The Traitors Season 4 Winner Rob Rausch Recommends Lying To Oneself
In an interview with Parade, Rob revealed that his strategy for winning The Traitors season 4 was lying to himself about being a Traitor, and he offered it as advice for future competitors. He said, “Lie to yourself more than anyone else. Convince yourself that you’re not a Traitor, and it’ll be a lot easier to convince everyone else.”
Rob Didn’t Allow Himself To Think Like A Traitor
During The Traitors season 4, Rob convinced himself into believing that he was a Faithful, and he wouldn’t allow himself to think like a Traitor. He shared, “I was pretty much consistently gaslighting myself that I was a Faithful every single day, and it worked pretty good. During the day, I would not even let myself have Traitors’ thoughts.”
Rob used this strategy to help himself appear as a Faithful to his fellow contestants. He explained, “And when people would talk to me about their theories, I would think through them as if I knew nothing of being a Traitor and didn’t know who the Traitors were. I would just think through it logically as if I were Faithful and respond in that way, because it was authentic. And I feel like it read that way to everyone in the castle. So, yeah, I would say figure out a way to believe that you’re Faithful to a certain degree.”
Rob’s winning Traitors season 4 strategy is very intriguing. The entire game is a study in psychological warfare, and Rob even fought a battle with himself. It must’ve been extremely challenging for him to get into the mindset of a Faithful, when he knew that he was a Traitor, but the strategy worked perfectly for him, considering that he won the game. Rob’s advice to future contestants might sound strange at first, but, in a game like The Traitors, in which hiding one’s identity can earn contestants the win, lying to oneself just might be the ultimate strategy.
