Joy Behar was once fired from “Good Morning America” for a very surprising reason.

The longtime “View” co-host revealed on Friday’s episode that she was axed from the ABC sister program due to poor performance — as a receptionist.

“First of all, I’d like to say that when I was fired from ‘Good Morning America’ years ago,” Behar, 80, blurted out while conversing with guest Kumail Nanjiani, who was shocked by the unexpected revelation.

“I was the worst receptionist they’ve ever had!” she insisted, prompting co-host Sara Haines to vouch for the “true story.”

“So I was fired, and they took me to Chippendales as my goodbye present,” Behar went on, explaining to Nanjiani — who stars in the Hulu miniseries, “Welcome to Chippendales” — that she participated in all that the male striptease show has to offer, including “put[ting] the money in the guys’, you know, thingy.”

“It’s fabulous!” she gushed, a sentiment with which co-host Sunny Hostin agreed and added, “Chippendales is a fun place!”

“Anyway, so I’m familiar with Chippendales,” Behar said to Nanjiani, who erupted in laughter.

Upon regaining his composure, the actor, 44, said of the host’s hilarious story, “So that was a good and bad day for you. You lost a job, but you gained so much more.”

Chuckling, Behar agreed.

She has somewhat of a reputation for taking getting the pink skip in stride.

In 2013, the media personality was fired from “The View,” on which she had been a panelist since the talk show’s inception in 1997.

“I was glad to be fired. I basically was sick of the show at that point for some reason. I don’t even remember why,” she told Time this past June.

Ramin Setoodeh — who wrote “Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of ‘The View’” — provided additional insight into Behar’s termination. He told the magazine that she offered to leave immediately, while co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck — who also got the boot that day — burst into tears.

Behar continued to guest co-host throughout 2014 and 2015 before being asked back into a permanent role.
