A father accused of murdering his two-year-old son and girlfriend has been booked into prison after being released from hospital.

Thomas Mosley, 21, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after the body of Pashun Jeffrey, 20 was found in her apartment in St Petersburg, Florida, on Thursday.

Their son Taylen Mosley, 2, was found dead inside an alligator’s mouth around 10 miles from his mother’s home.

Officers managed to recover his body after killing the animal, with a medical examiner determining his cause of death.

Mosley was initially taken to the hospital to be treated for cuts on his arms and hands but has since been transferred to Pinellas County Jail.

Pashun was discovered with multiple stab wounds at her apartment, with her heartbroken family paying tribute to the mother-of-one and her son.

Posting on a GoFundMe page, which has raised more than $8,000 so far, the family said: ‘Pashun knew that being a single mom would be hard, but she was determined to provide for her son.

‘We will miss her smile, joyous laughter, and commentary on life. Taylen was a sweet and happy toddler and loved his mom.

‘During her work breaks, she would facetime so that she could spend every moment possible with him. During the day, Taylen would grab anyone’s phone and pretend to call his mom.

‘To see them together and their love for each other was a blessing. We will remember their love and will keep them in our hearts.’

Police announced Mosley was a ‘person of interest’ after locating him in hopes of finding Taylen, who was not in his custody at the time.

Thomas had checked himself into hospital and was covered in cuts on his arms and hands.

Thomas did not speak with investigators, with police confirming that he was not cooperating with authorities.
