ITV talk show host Lorraine Kelly, 62, has appeared to have made a sly dig at TalkTV host Piers Morgan, 57, for his “gladiatorial-style” interviews. The star seemingly aimed a swipe at her pal Piers following his ITV exit, as she compared him to his former co-star, Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid, 51, whom she branded a “fantastic” interviewer.
First, Lorraine addressed whether she’d really ever considered leaving her job at ITV for a spot on TalkTV, where Piers hosts his show, Piers Morgan Uncensored.
“I never had a conversation with Piers about moving to Talk TV,” Lorraine clarified. “When he left GMB, he joked about me being his new TV wife but he was just being Piers.”
The star then went on to praise her ITV colleague Susanna, who has continued to host Good Morning Britain after Piers’ explosive departure from the show.
“He loves to stir things up and get people talking,” Lorraine said. “Since he left, Susanna has reported from the Ukraine and Poland border, and the interview she did with Boris Johnson was a masterclass in broadcasting.”

Lorraine has been working on ITV, and formerly GMTV, for decades, and is best known for her upbeat self-titled daily talk show, Lorraine.
Last month, the star also celebrated 30 years of marriage with her cameraman husband Steve Smith, 62.
The pair share one daughter, 27-year-old Rosie, who is also a journalist and co-presenter on the podcast What If? with her mum.
Piers formerly presented Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna, first appearing as a guest host on the show back in April 2015.

He then went on to be a permanent co-host in November 2015, appearing alongside Susanna and Charlotte Hawkins.
Piers hosted the show for six years until March 2021, when his remarks about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey sparked an on-air argument with Alex Beresford.
At the time Meghan, 40, claimed that “racist treatment” she received while working as a senior member of the royal family left her feeling suicidal, speaking out in a sit down interview with her husband Prince Harry, 37, and TV’s Oprah Winfrey.
Questioning the credibility of the Duchess of Sussex’s claims, Piers told 1.9 million GMB viewers at the time: “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said, Meghan Markle. I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report.”
Alex went on to suggest Piers’ response was due to him having some sort of personal vendetta against Meghan.
During the exchange, Alex said: “I understand you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle, or had one, and she cut you off.
“She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has, but yet you continue to trash her.”
Alex’s accusations caused Piers to storm off the set of the ITV show and he hasn’t presented GMB since.
The December issue of woman&home is on sale Thursday 27th October 2022.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
