The weddings are finally upon us on Season 2 of Love Is Blind UK. Though several engaged couples made it down the aisle, not all of them could exchange their “I do’s,” and a few hearts walked away broken from the reality TV show.

One such instance was with fan favorite couple Jed and Bardha. While the pair seemed solid throughout the season, things came screeching to a halt at the end. So what really happened that caused the would-be bride to turn down the man of her dreams?

Bardha Said ‘No’ To Jed At The Altar

Throughout the season, Jed and Bardha seemed like one of the strongest couples to get engaged. Right from the start, they felt aligned with what they wanted in life, talking about their desire to have children and start a family together when they were still in the pods.

As the season wore on, however, Bardha’s independent and headstrong personality started to cause some tension in the relationship. She explained that she was used to being an “alpha female,” and that it was hard for her to let Jed take care of her at moments. Leading up to the wedding, she was concerned about the number of arguments they were having about the topic.

According to Bardha, there was one instance when the couple got into an argument over paying the dinner bill. While she’d promised Jed he could pay for the meal ahead of time, she still ended up grabbing the check when it arrived at their table, upsetting Jed. It seems like Bardha was still in her head about the situation when the big day came, and at the altar, she told Jed that she wasn’t able to say “I do” that day. That said, she made it clear that, despite her concerns about their recent miscommunications, she still wanted to continue their relationship after the show:

But I hope it’s not the end of us, it’s the beginning.

Bardha Had A Sweet Moment With Jed’s Parents

After it was clear that the pair wouldn’t be getting married, Bardha exited the wedding hall in tears. She and Jed had a private conversation where she explained she just wasn’t ready to take things to the next level, and that they had “so much more to learn” about one another before then. For his part, Jed seemed to understand, and he told the cameras that he believed he and Bardha would have some critical conversations in their future:

Obviously not the best thing to hear at the altar, but we’ve got a few things to sort out. There’s, like, discussions to be had.

Though Jed seemed to understand Bardha’s decision, it’s still unclear whether the pair will continue dating after the show.

It was clear Bardha felt terrible about the ordeal, telling the cameras that saying no to Jed felt like the “worst thing” she’d ever done in her life. There was a sweet moment, however, that she shared with his parents. Bardha apologized for getting their hopes up, but the couple was incredibly understanding, and Jed’s mother even reassured her it was okay not to rush her decision.

“Leaving the experiment not as a wife is not a great feeling,” Bardha told the cameras. “But I can’t sacrifice what I need for my future because of that.” The Season 2 reunion will air on August 31st, only on Netflix.
