Love Island contestants have recorded self-descriptions to help visually impaired fans get to know them. It means fans will get to understand traits such as skin colour and hair length while getting to know the Islanders.
There will also be an audio recorded tour of the villa. This is designed to give blind and partially blind fans insight into the georgraphy of the property.
The self-descriptions will be available on the Love Island YouTube page, reports the Daily Mail. The move to be more inclusive has been welcomed by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
Sonali Rai, RNIB’s Broadcast and Audio Description Manager, said: “By embracing self-descriptions on the next series of Love Island, ITV is demonstrating a great understanding of the importance of providing equal access to content.
“RNIB research shows that a significant portion of TV programmes lack traditional audio description (AD), often due to challenges such as limited pauses in which to add AD, so we welcome this creative exploration in enhancing accessibility for blind and partially sighted viewers.”

ITV said it is “always look for ways” to make its programming more inclusive. It comes as series 10 of Love Island kicks off on Monday.
And fans are already being asked which singletons they think should couple up at the start. The public can vote free on the Love Island app when voting opens on Thursday from 8am.
It will close on Friday evening at 9pm.
