Love Island 2023 star Molly Marsh, 21, broke down during last night’s show after speaking to fellow contestant Ruchee Gurung, 24, about struggling to communicate her thoughts.
The ITV contestant became teary as she confessed that she was aware a conversation needed to happen between her and her current partner Mitchel Taylor, 26, after kissing bombshell Zachariah Noble, 25, in a challenge.
Molly admitted she felt she was not good at getting her words out, as she started crying while talking to her friend Ruchee.
While some fans were sympathetic, others questioned Molly’s tears so early in the competition and were sceptical that her feelings could already be this strong.
Former Love Island finalist Indiyah Polack voiced her doubts in today’s episode of the Love Island: The Morning After podcast, which she hosts with Sam Thompson.
Indiyah continued: “And not being funny or anything, but it’s day two – what are we crying about? Nobody’s dead!”
Pressed on whether she did think they were crocodile tears, she admitted: “Yeah.”
However, she also implored fans to “take it with a pinch of salt”, as she suggested that it was possible Molly’s tears were genuine after all.
“I know what the villa’s like,” she said. “It’s very heightened in there, feelings are all over the place and it gets to be a lot.
“So it’s not the most irrational thing to cry on day 2 in the Love Island villa, because it is the Love Island villa,” she added, before advising Molly to “hold the tears” all the same.
Love Island: The Morning After podcast is available to listen to on streaming platforms now.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
