Mark Cuban visited the Good Morning America set last week to discuss Shark Tank. The Dallas Mavericks owner does not believe in traveling with bodyguards, and why should he? With his height, he is a force to be reckoned with. A fact was illustrated when a bodyguard for the guests of the morning show flanked Cuban and proved what a looming character the entrepreneur is. But after Cuban tweeted out a question to followers regarding using a pirated streaming service and being dubbed “Narc Cuban,” the investor may want to rethink his stance on being protected and hire a bigger bodyguard for future travels.
During Monday night’s Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, Cuban sent out a tweet to fans that almost made them forget about what they were watching on tv.
“Got a personal question for everyone watching heats vs celts right now,” Cuban tweeted. “Who is watching on a pirated stream. I’m curious how prevalent it is.”
The hazing from followers was almost instantaneous. While some choice names were thrown around, the nickname “Narc Cuban” seemed to stick. And because of this, finding bodyguards who are minimally the same stature as Cuban may be necessary until the fervor dies down over the incriminating tweet Cuban thought was appropriate to send to fans.
Mark Cuban Is A Formidable Foe At Over Six Feet Tall
Given his height and the good shape that Cuban is in, it makes sense that he does not find it necessary to have bodyguards. Most people who would want to fight the billionaire would come nowhere near his towering 6’2″. As such, despite the tweet from Monday night, it is unlikely that Cuban will suddenly change his lifestyle and surround himself with a security detail.
The reasons that so many like Cuban is that he does not act like the stereotypical billionaire and spends his money in cool ways. Besides refusing bodyguards, the dress code is constantly casual, he does not have a chauffeur, nor does he have an elaborate corporate office he has to peacock in daily.

Instead, Cuban, who has political aspirations he has not followed up on out of respect for his wife, answers his own emails and works from an office in his home. He is humbler versus being a braggart, which likely leaves him in good stead with his social media followers, even after he tried to get them to admit to a crime in real-time.
For those who are fans of Shark Tank, they are aware that Cuban speaks his mind. As such, despite tweeting a question that could have gotten followers in trouble had they answered, most chalk it up to Cuban being himself.
But knowing his platform on Shark Tank, followers believe Cuban’s entrepreneurial spirit is churning. And they are wondering if Cuban is planning on tackling streaming providers head on with a service of his own.
Cuban is an investor in Fireside, a company that brings interactive streaming to viewers. The plan is to bring “interactive technology to smart TVs, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Roku” which would be direct competition to other streaming providers who have cracked down on pirating after several quarters losing money. And with actors, reality tv celebrities, and high-profile investors signing on to create and back programming, the tweet could mean that Fireside is getting ready to launch something new that current streaming providers did not see coming.
This ability to see what the market needs is what makes Cuban such an asset on Shark Tank, regardless of whether his words (or tweets) land him in hot water occasionally.
