Mercedes Javid has opened up about the primary cause behind her separation from Tommy Feight and discussed the intense transitions she’s facing after initiating divorce proceedings.

As reported, the Shahs of Sunset personality parted ways with Tommy in October of the previous year, coinciding with the day she filed for divorce. In her filing, she also sought sole custody of their child.

During her appearance on the Heal 2 Feel podcast, Mercedes was questioned about the main catalyst for their breakup.

“It was mainly the disrespect, the lack of regard, and the indifference. I felt like he had completely disengaged and wasn’t actively involved,” Mercedes explained.

“Taking you for granted?” asked the co-host.

“Yeah,” Mercedes answered. “I definitely felt that … our whole lives [were taken] for granted … [I felt] extremely isolated for a really long time.”

“Don’t ever allow fear to stand in the way of what’s best for you, what’s right for you, what’s worth, you know, risks in life,” Mercedes added. “Literally everything [right now], it’s like, what am I doing? Who am I? I am rediscovering, like, everything. It’s so intense and it’s so wild. And, you know, that feels more like what life should be.”

Back in November, Mercedes addressed her divorce while speaking to E! News at BravoCon. “I love him. We’re always going to be family and I think the future is going to be really positive for all of us, Tommy, me, Shams, everyone,” she said at the time.

Mercedes then hinted at the reboot, The Valley: Persian Style.

“Nothing is off limits,” she explained. “We won’t let each other get away with that. We gotta face everything.”

She also told US Weekly, “Thank God, I’m gonna keep [the divorce] very positive … I feel like, of course, it’s a difficult thing, but we’re gonna be good. It’s very, very new and raw. So I’m still, like, processing like 99 percent of it as we speak.”

The star was then asked if she’d pursue a hookup at BravoCon.

“Are you kidding me? I’m married right now,” she said. “We are just doing baby steps — things like [being] separated, new homes. That kind of thing.”

The Valley: Persian Style premieres Thursday, January 8, on Bravo.
