Monty Don, 67, addressed his Instagram followers in a video clip along with the ominous caption: “Beware fake accounts!” In the video, Monty sat with his puppy Ned in front of his bookshelf.
The Gardeners’ World star said: “It’s Monty Don here, with Ned. Just to say that there are various accounts out there that are pretending to be me or claiming to be me or from my office or whatever.
“None of them, none of them are true.
“They are all fakes so please boycott them, report them.
“And if you want to hear about me or Ned or the garden or anything to do with my life, then stick with me here.”

Hundreds of Monty’s fans quickly took to the comments to share their support.
Nicki wrote: “There are lots of people with fake accounts now…it’s time Instagram actually did something about it. So tiresome!”
Julia echoed: “I reported several accounts who messaged me presenting to be famous celebrities, and Insta did nothing, I was shocked.”
Magalys added: “Thank you for being you and letting us know of fake accounted.”
