In the months following 27-year-old Nicola’s lavish wedding to the eldest of the Beckham brood, Brooklyn, 23, rumours circulated that she had fallen out with matriarch Victoria over her wedding dress.
Following the three-day ceremony back in April, reports of frostiness within the family emerged with sources even claiming to Page Six that the pair “don’t talk”.
In a new interview, Nicola has finally spoken out and proclaimed that she is not “feuding” with her famous mother-in-law.
Nevertheless, she did hint that not everything is hunky dory. She told The Times: “It’s not a feud! Why do they say feud? You know, no family is perfect. No family.
“I think it all started, and I’ve said this before, because I didn’t end up wearing Victoria’s wedding dress.”

Nicola previously explained that she was planning on wearing a dress designed by Victoria.
She told Variety in August: “I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.
“She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started.”
In her new interview, Nicola has doubled down that she “really wanted to wear” Victoria’s design, and explained the events that ended up with her not wearing it.
She continued: “The truth is that I was in a text chain with my mom, Victoria and Leslie [Nicola’s stylist]…I was so excited to start the design process.
“I was in the middle of filming Lola James and directing, so I was very busy. And then she, Victoria, was very busy, and a few days went by, and I didn’t hear anything.

“Then I think Victoria thought since I was on set, maybe she didn’t want to upset me, so she called my mom and said that she couldn’t make the dress. She said that her, um, atelier couldn’t make the dress in time.”
Nicola went on to say that she “truthfully” was looking forward to wearing Victoria’s dress and that it makes her “sad” when she hears speculation that she was “never planning on wearing it”.

She continued: “That’s just not true. I don’t want to read everything, but when it’s in your face, sometimes you can’t help it. I guess with social media and stuff.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Nicola gushed over her “legend” father-in-law David Beckham and said 11-year-old Harper is “the sweetest”.
Earlier this month, Nicola and Victoria sparked hopes of a reconciliation when Nicola joined her husband and his family to support Victoria at Paris Fashion Week.
The former Spice Girl went on to share a photograph of her family, including Nicola, to her 30.3m Instagram followers, along with the caption: “I love you all so much x.”
At the time, sources claimed that Nicola attended the event for the sake of Brooklyn, but speculated that their reconciliation “won’t last long”.
They told Heat Magazine: “Brooklyn explained that his parents were upset – that’s why she turned up to the show.
“But no one believes the reconciliation will last long – especially now Nicola has declined to spend Christmas with the Beckhams for the second year in a row.”
