Owen Wilson Had An On-And-Off Relationship With Varunie Vongsvirates For Five Years
Although, for the most part, he seems to keep his personal life private, Owen Wilson has been linked to several women in the past. Most recently, the actor dated businesswoman Varunie Vongsvirates on and off for nearly five years. Vongsvirates has served as a business development rep for American Addiction Centers. She worked out of Los Angeles and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, San Diego, according to her LinkedIn Page.
Although the pair chose to keep their relationship off the spotlight, it hit the tabloids when Vongsvirates announced she was pregnant. The couple had already broken up at the time. And, in 2018, by the time Lyla Aranya Wilson was born, the actor demanded a DNA test. The test revealed that he was, in fact, the father of Lyla. But, according to Vongsvirates, Wilson has chosen not to be a part of their daughter’s life.
A source close to the actor told Us News in 2018 that the Zoolander actor “refuses to meet his daughter” and “checked the no visitation box” during a court hearing that June, despite being named the baby’s biological father.
Owen Wilson Pays $25,000 A Month On Child Support For His Estranged Daughter, And Gave A Big One-Off Payment
Owen Wilson maintains no relationship with his daughter Lyla. His ex, Varunie Vongsvirates, even claims that the actor has never met their kid. Despite this, the Marley & Me star has had to pay a considerable amount in child support over the years. After the DNA test Wilson insisted upon revealed he is Lyla’s father, the couple’s lawyers agreed to a $25,000 monthly payment for child support.
In addition to paying more than $300,000 in child support a year, reports have shown that the actor also gave $103,128 as a one-off payment to Vongsvirates to pay for a night nurse and labor coach for their daughter’s birth. The amount was also used to cover the legal fees and part of the monthly child support he had to pay. On top of that, Wilson agreed to add his daughter to his Screen Actors Guild medical insurance.
Lyla is Wilson’s third kid. Before her, the actor and his then-girlfriend Jade Duell had a son in 2011. And in 2014, Wilson had a son with personal trainer Caroline Lindqvist. While the relationship with his daughter is strained, Wilson seems to have a good relationship with his two sons, who he mentions frequently in interviews.
