90 Day Fiancé has a huge following and has created celebrities out of some cast members. There are also many spinoffs from the series including 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, plus a few more, if you can believe it. Some of their stars have gotten their own spinoffs, and a fan favorite is The Family Chantel. This series follows the married life of Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno, and their feuding families.
The couple first appeared on season four of the TLC series. They met online when Chantel was to teach Pedro English, and he would teach her Spanish. Chantel found him attractive and decided to meet him in his native Dominican Republic. Pretty soon the couple fell in love. Pedro proposed on her third trip, and they thought the rest would be happily ever after.
8/8 Did Pedro Jimeno And Chantel Everett Have Problems From The Start?
Pedro and Chantel seemed very much in love, much to their families’ dismay. Chantel’s family, especially her mother, Karen were very vocal of their feelings, and constantly accused Pedro of using Chantel for a green card.
Pedro’s family was not any happier about the marriage. His mom, Lydia, and sister, Nicole, intensely disliked Chantel, and tried to make things difficult for the newlyweds. Nicole went so far as to tell Chantel that her husband had cheated on her with Nicole’s best friend, Coraima.
Tensions got so high between the Jimenos and the Everetts that Pedro and Chantel’s brother, River, got into a brawl at the dinner table during Nicole’s visit.
The rift between the families did not make marriage easy for the couple.
7/8 Did Pedro Ever Get Along With The Everett Family?
By season two of The Family Chantel, things got a little easier for Pedro. The Everetts had a new in-law to pick on. Older brother, Royal was getting married to Angenette, who was from the Philippines. Chantel led the charge to accuse Angenette of many of the same things that the family believed about Pedro.
Pedro slowly became closer to the family. He started to spend time with his father-in-law, Thomas, and he even became friends with River. Karen also began to soften towards Pedro, and began calling him “mi hijo”. It looked like they were becoming one big happy family.
But Lydia and Nicole were still not on board.
6/8 When Did Pedro Jimeno Change?
Season three showed a change in Pedro Jimeno. He decided that he wanted to meet his father, who was never there for Pedro and Nicole. He was married to someone else when they were born and stayed with the other family.
Pedro set out to find him when Lydia refused to talk about it. She only said the absentee father supported them financially. This made Pedro angry, “He can pay, but I need more than that! What about feelings, connections, relationships? What about spending time together? It’s not just about money.”
Chantel fully supported her husband and traveled with him to the Dominican Republic. But Pedro was unable to reconnect with his father, and it affected him emotionally.
5/8 A New Career For 90 Day Fiancé’s Pedro Jimeno
When Pedro first moved to the United States and married Chantel Everett, she was in nursing school, so Pedro needed to make money. He took a job in a warehouse to help support the family.
When Chantel graduated and began working as a nurse, Pedro wanted a career. He believed he found his calling as a Real Estate Agent. He got his license in 2021 and began working for the Laura Delgado Realty Group in Georgia. Pedro was happy there because many of his coworkers and clients spoke Spanish. He began to do well at his job.
But it wasn’t just a job to Pedro. He became friends with his coworkers and spent time with them outside work, often leaving his wife to wonder what he was doing. This was the beginning of the end.
4/8 Why Did Pedro Jimeno Want A Divorce?
Pedro Jimeno’s behavior led his wife to believe he was having an affair, which he denied. Chantel Everett still loved her husband and tried hard to fix their relationship.

Chantel was willing to do almost anything to repair their marriage. She tried talking to him constantly, and suggested counseling. As a last resort, she went to the Dominican Republic seeking help from Lydia. Nothing helped. The more she tried, the more distant her husband became.
He got nastier and nastier to Chantel, calling her “lazy” and said things such as, “Sometimes, I don’t even want to get home.” He moved into another room, and then rented an apartment for himself without telling her.
Eventually, he sat down and said, “I want my divorce” without being able to look in her eyes.
3/8 Pedro Jimeno Faces Backlash From The Family Chantel Viewers
As the saga played out in season four, viewers began to call Pedro out for his treatment of his wife. Fans of The Family Chantel could not understand how the man who used to adore his wife was now treating her so poorly. He was seen as cold and mean and many felt sorry for Chantel.
Social media was flooded with angry comments towards Pedro.
“Pedro is a very ungrateful human being.”
“Chantel deserves so much more than this self-absorbed dude. All he cares about is himself. I pray you find a real man chantel.”
“You never loved her. User!! We all saw through you.”
2/8 Is Pedro’s Real Estate Company Suffering?
As the deterioration of the Jimenos’ marriage played out on TV, so did Pedro’s new life with his real estate company and his co-workers. There were rumors of an affair with Antonella Barrenechea Streuli, who he worked with on a daily basis, and his new career was blamed on his behavior towards Chantel.
Since his treatment of Chantel aired on The Family Chantel, he has received many negative reviews on his professional profile. His real estate rating has taken a nosedive. He has also been accused of being unprofessional and a terrible realtor. The negativity caused the Laura Delgado Real Estate firm to limit their comments, as did Antonella.
Later, it came out that Laura Delgado herself has a criminal past which includes fraudulent tax returns and defrauding the Hispanic community. Some accused Laura of being the one having the affair with Pedro.
On the other hand, some are giving Pedro positive reviews, and he is selling houses.
1/8 What Is Going On With Chantel Everett And Pedro Jimeno Now?
It has been months since Pedro Jimeno filed for divorce, and Chantel Everett recently said that she is “doing better”. She has received an outpouring of support, for which she is grateful. She seems to be getting over the end of her marriage.
The couple have each filed restraining orders against each other.
Chantel may be back to dating. There have been rumors that she dated Rich Dollaz. The latest say that she has been dating Drake, or that he is at least pursuing her.
Accusations still fly that Pedro is seeing either Antonella or Laura. No word yet if there will be a new season of The Family Chantel. Viewers are hoping for the series without Pedro, and it has been suggested that Chantel join the 90 Day spinoff, The Single Life.
