Piers Morgan Notices ‘Telltale’ Shift During Trump’s Visit to the UK

Piers Morgan has claimed Britain’s mood towards Donald Trump has undergone a dramatic shift, pointing to the lack of protests during the US President’s second state visit. The Trump’s, hosted by King Charles III, spent time at Windsor Castle with the royals — including a carriage ride and lunch — in a display of pomp and ceremony. The trip is designed to showcase the “special relationship” between the UK and the US, strengthening diplomatic ties and signalling unity on major issues like security, trade, and global conflicts.

But the outspoken host, 60, noticed a stark contrast between Trump’s previous 2019 visit to the UK. Taking to X, he shared: “Barely any anti-Trump protests in Windsor or London… very different mood to his last state visit, and very revealing about changing attitudes to the President second time round.” The broadcaster’s followers quickly agreed as one commented: “Trump Didn’t Change. The People of Great Britain Did. Remember last time Trump came?”

They went on: “The streets filled with protests? This time? Silence. Because Britain has opened its eyes. We’ve seen what a strong-willed man can do… on borders, on crime, on liberty.

“And we’ve also seen what Starmer does…. Preside over chaos and collapse. The truth? Trump hasn’t changed. We have. Because we see Trump’s strength and we want some of that here, don’t we?”

While the spectacle rolled on at Windsor, the protest movement was far smaller and kept well away from the royal residence. Hundreds of demonstrators were instead preparing to march in central London, around 20 miles from the castle, later in the day.

Placards and banners included slogans such as “dump Trump” and “stop Trump,” alongside more expletive-filled attacks. Some protesters dressed as world leaders, including Vladimir Putin, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Andrew Tate, and waved placards that read “war criminals for Trump,” “murderers for Trump,” and “misogynists for Trump.”

Others honed in on issues Trump has weighed in on. Several signs referenced the Russia-Ukraine conflict and Israel’s war in Gaza. “No to Trump’s fascist regime,” said one, while one protester called him “the nastiest thing in London since the plague.”

The name of Jeffrey Epstein also surfaced, with demonstrators highlighting Trump’s past friendship with the convicted sex offender despite his repeated denials of closeness.

It all marks a stark contrast to Trump’s first state visit in 2019, when mass rallies dominated central London. Tens of thousands of people poured onto the streets in a show of anger, while a giant “Trump baby blimp” was flown over Westminster.

This time, the mood appears noticeably different. Piers summed it up as a “very revealing” shift — and his comments come just days after an estimated record-breaking Unite the Kingdom rally led by Tommy Robinson in the capital, which some supporters claimed numbered in the millions.

Supporters called for tougher immigration policies and national unity while slamming the current PM, Keir Starmer.
