In 2017, her mother Louise Bostock told BirminghamLive Jayla was not unwell when she was born, but days after she turned one she ‘kept turning blue’ and would intermittently stop breathing.
‘She was rushed to hospital where she remained for five months,’ her mother said.
‘At first they thought it was epilepsy. But eventually they couldn’t diagnose her and I was told that she wasn’t expected to survive.’
Her condition appeared to improve aged six, when she was approved to begin trialling cannabis oil.
Jayla is the daughter of Ms Bostock and Charisma Agbonlahor, the brother of football ace Gabby.
