Prince William and Kate Middleton’s office “was really disappointed” to hear about a senior member of King Charles III’s team allegedly making racist comments to Sistah Space CEO Ngozi Fulani.
“I was really disappointed to hear about the guest’s experience,” a spokesperson for the Prince and Princess of Wales told Page Six on Wednesday.
“Racism has no place in our society. These comments were unacceptable and it’s right that the individual has stepped aside with immediate effect.”
The statement comes after Fulani — a black woman who works as a domestic abuse advocate — alleged that she had been racially profiled during an event held by Camilla, Queen Consort, at Buckingham Palace.
“Mixed feelings about yesterday’s visit to Buckingham Palace,” she tweeted Wednesday.
“10 mins after arriving, a member of staff, Lady SH, approached me, moved my hair to see my name badge. The conversation below took place. The rest of the event is a blur.”
In a transcript of the alleged conversation, Lady SH repetitively asked Fulani where she was “from” and what “nationality” she is.
When Fulani told her that she was born in the UK, Lady SH allegedly said, “No, but where do you really come from, where do your people come from?”

Though Fulani tried to keep the person’s identity under wraps, the Washington Post reported that the comments were allegedly made by Lady Susan Hussey, Prince William’s godmother.
Hussey has since apologized and “stepped aside” from her position, according to Buckingham Palace.
“We take this incident extremely seriously and have investigated immediately to establish the full details,” a spokesperson for the Palace said on Wednesday, calling the remarks “unacceptable and deeply regrettable.”
The Palace said they have reached out to Fulani and have invited her “to discuss all elements of her experience in person.”
“All members of the Household are being reminded of the diversity and inclusivity policies which they are required to uphold at all times,” the spokesperson added.
Hussey’s alleged comments come less than two years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave an explosive TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, detailing the alleged racism they faced during their time with the royal family.
Markle — who is biracial with a white father and a black mother — claimed to Winfrey that there were “concerns and conversations” within the royal family regarding the couple’s first child, Archie, and “how dark his skin might be” at birth.
