Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell Maintain Separate Bank Accounts

Rebecca Romijn and husband Jerry O’Connell do not abide by the saying, “What’s mine is yours” when it comes to money.

“We keep our money completely separate,” Romijn, 52, revealed during the Thursday, July 17, episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen.

Host Andy Cohen joked, “Now that The Talk money is not coming in, I mean Rebecca, is [the breadwinner],” which prompted the couple to share their financial rules in marriage. (O’Connell cohosted The Talk from 2021 to 2024.)

“There’s, like, a community pot,” Romijn explained, noting that both she and O’Connell, 51, add to their child-raising fun “quarterly.”

The Star Trek: Strange New Worlds actress, who shares 16-year-old twins Dolly and Charlie with her husband, noted that she and O’Connell knew before they got married that they would keep their money separate.

“That’s like one of the first conversations you have when you decide to enter into a legal agreement together,” Romijn said.

O’Connell pointed out that the amount that each of them contribute to the “community pot” for family expenses can vary.

“I have to say, we actually throttle how much money we put into that account sometimes,” O’Connell said. Romijn chimed in, “Depending on who’s working more.”

She added, “The one who’s not working gets a little bit of a break and the one who is working puts in a little more. And we really tag-team with work.”

Romijn confirmed that she and O’Connell have been on the same page when it comes to their family since day one.

“We also decided when our girls were born that one of us would always stay home with our daughters,” the actress recalled. “So, no one else was ever going to raise them besides the parents.”

Romijn began dating the Stand By Me actor following her divorce from John Stamos. Romijn and Stamos, 61, were married six years before they announced their split in 2004. The divorce was finalized the following year.

Romijn and O’Connell’s love story began in 2004 when they met at a Maxim Hot 100 party in Las Vegas. Three years later, the pair tied the knot in July 2007. Their daughters, Dolly and Charlie, were born the following December.

O’Connell and Romijn renewed their vows in November 2011 and more than a decade later fans got an inside look at their romance on The Real Love Boat. The couple cohosted the CBS reality series in 2022.

Looking back at their relationship, O’Connell exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2022 that he was like “Eminem in 8 Mile,” because he had “one shot” to impress Romijn.

Romijn, meanwhile, said that O’Connell’s “song and dance” was all it took to be hooked. “Jerry was utterly charming, as you can imagine,” she told Us during a joint interview. “And hilarious, and of course I fell for that immediately.”
