Dolores Catania appeared on Tuesday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live after the highly anticipated premiere of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. And, during the appearance, she was asked about a potential engagement to boyfriend Paul Connell.
Before sharing Paul’s reaction to Frank Catania‘s Buzz Lightyear diss, revealing if she’s still in touch with ex-boyfriend Dr. David Principe, and more, Dolores responded to a question about her and Paul’s future and whether or not they will be getting engaged.
“How do I know?” she wondered on the February 7 episode of WWHL. “We have talked about a future together … Specifically, marriage isn’t the biggest goal in this relationship; Happiness is.”
During the appearance, Paul was seated in the audience alongside Dolores’ son, Frank Catania Jr., and, after being asked how long they’ve been together, he admitted it “seems like forever” before clarifying they were “coming up on maybe two years.”
On the WWHL: After Show, Paul was once again a hot topic as a virtual fan questioned Dolores about how he handled Frank comparing him to Buzz Lightyear at last year’s reunion.
“Andy said, ‘Oh but it’s cute.’ He kinda calmed me down in the moment. However, I had to go home and break it to Paulie and he laughed,” she recalled. “He said, ‘You know what, that’s pretty funny.’ He took it like a man. He took it well, he made a joke out of it.”
But the joke didn’t end there as Dolores revealed Frank later had a blanket made for Paul with his face on Buzz Lightyear for Christmas.
“He still hasn’t given it to me,” Paul explained, joking that he thinks Frank is “afraid of me a little bit.”
Back on the live broadcast, another fan wanted to know if Dolores was still speaking to David.
“No,” she replied. “Frank lives with him. [But] I’ve decided to leave the past in the past for this relationship.”
On the RHONJ premiere, tensions between Dolores and Jennifer Aydin were high, with Jennifer telling her castmate she looks like an old handbag. But, looking back, Dolores admitted she “wasn’t that upset about it” and applauded Jennifer for apologizing. In fact, while playing a game with host Andy Cohen, Dolores gave a nod to the apology when asked what she’s learned from Jennifer.

“She called and apologized when she did something wrong before I saw it so that’s something that I would do,” she noted.
As the game continued, Dolores said she likes “everything about [Jennifer and Bill Aydin‘s] relationship” before seemingly throwing some shade her way as she said Jennifer wasn’t a better friend to her than Teresa Giudice and claimed she wouldn’t steal a thing from Jennifer’s closet.
“None,” she said of what she’s take. “I have borrowed things though and she gave me a pair of Louboutins one time.”
As the topic turned to the ongoing drama between Teresa and Melissa Gorga, Dolores confirmed she’s not choosing sides.
“I’ve never took a side with family … Because you lose at the end of the day,” she stated before saying it’s time for them to “part ways.”
“I don’t want that. I don’t. But if there’s no peace in their life being together I think it’s time,” she explained.
Dolores then responded to a question about Teresa’s bridesmaid snub against Melissa.
“That’s a hard question because had they been getting along at the time, I would’ve expected her to be in it. But the fact that at the time she was choosing people to be in her wedding, they were kind of not getting along, from what I understand … I wouldn’t expect to be in the wedding as Melissa,” she shared. “It is supposed to be family but I think she was picking people that were close to her.”
“I think if it would’ve made peace, yes, ask her to be in the wedding. But stay tuned, you’ll see,” she added.
Also on the show, Dolores confirmed her friendship with Jacqueline Laurita is “fine,” despite Jacqueline past issues with Teresa.
“Jacqueline did just come out in defense of Teresa recently. But I’ve always spoken to Jacqueline periodically and I see her daughter [Ashlee Holmes] a lot,” she shared.
