Former Real Housewives of Potomac star Katie Rost is living a far different lifestyle than the one she presented to fans during her debut in season one of the franchise.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, February 3, Katie posted a photo of herself working a new job and “keepin’ it real” as she revealed that she’s working for “minimum wage” at Bethesda Co-op, an organic market in Cabin John, Maryland.
“Jesus Christ, I just started working, like a real job,” she began the post. “I just got off an 8-hour shift working minimum wage.”
Katie added in the caption that she feels like a “real person” instead of a “reality tv person” and “made $14 an hour.”
Katie took the work selfie in what appeared to be the vitamin aisle of the market. She looked to be all smiles after completing her shift.
In the comment section, Katie responded to a fan who had questions about her new line of work, and she described the market as “kinda granola and hippie,” and, “way better than Whole Foods.”
Many fans applauded Katie’s openness and transparency for revealing that she’s working an everyday normal job.

“Gotta pay the bills. Nothing wrong with that,” one fan wrote.
A second praised the Bravolebrity for her “humility” while sharing her current situation, and they claimed that what she’s doing is “important.”
Another was equally impressed, writing, “We are rooting for you Katie! This is awesome. This is what healing looks like! And you make it look GREAT! We are SO proud of you!”
Katie recently completed a rebab stint for an addiction to Adderall and alcohol, a journey she openly shared with fans on social media beginning in October 2022.
“There is no shame in admitting you have been prescribed things and those things are now hurting you physically,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
Fans first began to show concern for Katie’s mental well-being after she began sharing erratic posts on social media in 2019, including a tirade against her former boss, Andy Cohen. She also begged him to let her back on RHOP.
“I do want a job. I swear I will totally behave,” she pleaded to Andy in an April 2022 Instagram post. “I’m also sorry for my temper tantrums. I feel no thirst. I just want to work.”
Katie has appeared as a guest on RHOP from time to time over the years since being let go, but Bravo has shown no interest in wanting to bring back the former model.
