Rod Stewart, 80, and Penny Lancaster, 54, are the picture of marital bliss in new snaps from their long weekend away, revealing they had been staying at the luxurious Villa D’Este, which overlooks Lake Como, in Italy.
The couple, who have been together for 25 years and have two children together, revealed they had managed to make the most of their limited free time to enjoy some romance together. Penny wrote next to the snaps: “One of the most wonderful, romantic, long weekend getaways. So appreciative of the opportunities we get to spend quality time together in our busy lives.”
In one of the photos, the duo beamed for the camera while sitting in a boat on the famous lake with the stunning hotel in the background. Wearing her blonde hair down in loose waves, Penny looked chic in black trousers, black Valentino Garavani’s slingback pumps, and a sheer Robert Cavalli animal-print blouse.
Meanwhile, rocker Rod donned a smart white blazer, a wide black tie, and black beaded Gucci loafers. He finished his look with his trademark hair sticking up and plenty of bling. Shared with her 215,000 Instagram followers, the pics were quickly inundated with comments from friends, family and fans. Rod’s son Liam, whom he shares with ex-wife Rachel Hunter, wrote: “Dads adidas socks are perfect.”
Rod’s daughters, Ruby, 37, and Kimberly, 45, also left messages under the snap, calling them cute and remarking on Penny’s gorgeous hair. Celeb pals also got in on the action, leaving notes of appreciation. TV presenter Davina McCall left a series of red heart emojis, while Lisa Snowden added: “Gorgeous pic!”
In another photo, shared on Penny’s Instagram Stories, the couple posed in front of the stunning hotel where they were staying. The beautiful location, overlooking the famous Lake Como, was once a residence of the aristocracy, including princesses, marquises, sultans and tsars. In 1873, it was turned into a five-star luxury resort where the cost of rooms starts from €1.650 for a standard.
The Do Ya Think I’m Sexy singer is currently on tour across Europe, with his family, including wife Penny and son Alastair Wallace, 19, making up some of his entourage. The 80-year-old musician is currently putting on a huge number of performances across the world with his One Last Time tour.
Rod, Penny and Alastair were spotted recently in another party of Italy. The legendary crooner has a large family, with him fathering eight children over the years and three grandchildren. The rock star’s eldest child was born in 1963, while his youngest was welcomed into the world back in 2011.
The singer shares his children with a number of different women, including ex-girlfriend Susannah Boffey, ex-wives Alana Stewart and Rachel Hunter, ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg, and his current wife, Penny Lancaster.
