Tom Sandoval is ready to quit reality television and focus on his music career with his band, Tom Sandoval & the Most Extras.

As other Vanderpump Rules cast members, including Scheana Shay, 40, Tom Schwartz, 42, and Lala Kent, 34, continue with their reality dreams on The Valley, Tom, 43, has “very little interest” in being added to the show, especially after seeing success on America’s Got Talent.

“Tom is focusing on his music career; he is less interested in reality TV right now,” an insider told The U.S. Sun on August 5. “He wants to launch another tour after his AGT run is over and capitalize on that success. He is overwhelmed, in the best way, with the response to his AGT audition and feels seen for the first time as a musician.”

“[He] has very little interest in going on The Valley … [and wants to] use this opportunity to pivot more into music and chase those dreams.”

While some suspected his AGT episode was “rigged” and slammed the “cringe” performance to A-ha’s “Take on Me,” the judges, including Simon Cowell, 65, Howie Mandel, 69, Sofia Vergara, 53, and Mel B, 50, offered up four “yeses,” which granted the band access to the next round.

Backstage, after Simon noted that his vocals weren’t the best, Tom addressed the criticism, admitting that he’s “not the next Celine Dion.”

“I know that. For a long time, I never thought I would ever be able to sing a song like that and hit those notes. And so, with working with vocal coaches and practicing, and being able to pull that off, it just was a huge milestone and accomplishment for myself,” he continued.

Although “Scandoval,” which saw the reveal of his affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 30, and breakup from Ariana Madix, 40, led to backlash for his band and its bookings, the group has since seen its schedule pick back up due to their AGT audition.

“We’re going to definitely step up our performance and probably go a little bit of a different direction to show our versatility – but we’re not sure just yet,” Tom explained of the band’s next performance on the series. “We’ve got a few songs that we’re kind of throwing around and thinking about, but we’re still trying to figure that out and how to present them.”
