Former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel, 51, has addressed her previous comments where the entrepreneur addressed Meghan Markle’s interview with The Cut released in September. In a TikTok video posted on September 6, Bethenny shared her thoughts on the Duchess after her recent interview with the publication where she opened up about her time in the Royal Family.
The Housewives star took issue with Meghan claiming she was “overplaying her hand” following her exit from royal life.
“She is a terrible, terrible businessperson, strategist — she’s playing checkers, not chess — because she is overplaying her hand, and she is painting herself into a corner, becoming a woman without a country,” Bethenny said at the time.The entrepreneur was making reference to the interviews Meghan had given since her royal exit, including the Oprah Winfrey tell-all chat in 2021.
In Bethenny’s podcast, Just B, released on September 29, the Skinnygirl founder has since addressed her comments, admitting she received criticism from royal fans.
The former reality star explained she does not always want to seem she is being “negative” and added she understood being a part of the Royal Family may have been a difficult experience for Meghan branding it “traumatic”.

Following the One Young World Summit, the royal couple then traveled to Düsseldorf, Germany to celebrate the Invictus Games’s “One Year to Go” countdown event.

The couple swiftly returned to the UK following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8.
Following the official period of mourning, Meghan told Variety: “There’s been such an outpouring of love and support. I’m really grateful that I was able to be with my husband to support him, especially during that time.
“What’s so beautiful is to look at the legacy that his grandmother was able to leave on so many fronts. Certainly, in terms of female leadership, she is the most shining example of what that looks like.”
Meanwhile, Harry announced in July last year he was penning an “intimate memoir”.
The title of his highly anticipated memoir, “Spare” will be released worldwide on January 10.
The memoir’s front cover features a close-up portrait of Prince Harry, taken by photographer Ramona Rosales – who also led the photoshoot of Meghan for her Variety Power of Women cover released earlier this month.
The description went on, defining Spare as a book with “raw, unflinching honesty” set to provide “insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief”.
