Victoria Beckham, 49, has divided fashion fans with her brand-new clothing collection, as they branded the designer’s knitted underwear “a joke” that would only appeal to “a grandma”.

Last week, the businesswoman unveiled a first look at the Victoria Beckham Pre-Spring Summer 2024 collection.

Featuring boxy jumpers, structured one-pieces and androgynous tailoring, the fashion collection is stunning — but not everyone is in love with all of the pieces.

One particular knitted set has social media users up in arms and Posh Spice’s followers posing the question, who would wear, or need, woollen underwear?

One of the photographs from her new collection that Victoria posted to her Instagram feed is of a model wearing a cable-knit V-neck jumper.

The model was snapped holding a slouchy green leather bag, paired with knitted knickers and white thigh-high socks.

She captioned the image: “Victoria Beckham Pre Spring Summer 2024. Look 7 & 6. Available Autumn Winter 2023”

Regarding the image, one social media user wrote: “If that’s fashion..I don’t want it..but my grandma might.”

Another commented: “Where would you wear that??? Asda??”

A third wrote: “As if any sane person is going to wear that”.

However, many of Victoria’s 30.9 million followers were quick to claim that the knitted underwear was right up their streets.

One wrote: “Ok, now I’ll have to rock that look!”

A second agreed and said: “Authenticity is always new.”

Another Instagram user joked and said: “Knitted panties would come in handy in St. Petersburg now.”

It’s thought that the knitted knicker shorts will be available to purchase this autumn, however, there is yet to be a price announced for the undergarments.

Despite the divisive item, business is positively booming for Victoria Beckham.

In March 2023, it was revealed that Posh Spice’s revenue had risen by 42 percent and was raking in £58 million.

In a report, published in Women’s Wear Daily it was said that: “Total revenues for the Victoria Beckham Holdings group fell 6% to £36.1m (2019 – £38.3m) due to the effects of the global pandemic.

“This group rapidly responded to the effects of the pandemic and controlled its cash and expenditure.”

According to the Mirror, a spokeswoman for VB confirmed that the £58 million figure announced earlier this year was accurate.
