Wendy Williams’ podcast has not been canceled before its launch, contrary to a report claiming otherwise, Page Six can confirm.
“We are still working behind the scenes on several projects. There has been no official cancellation of the podcast,” Williams’ publicist, Shawn Zanotti, tells us exclusively.
“It is unfortunate that the credibility of storytelling is performed without vetting sources,” Zanotti continues, “and seasoned writers report on hearsay as a fact rather than checking facts for truth before publishing a story.”
Last week, the US Sun reported that the former daytime talk show host’s podcast was dead in the water and that its promotional website had been shut down.
However, the “Wendy Experience” site is still up and running and even selling merchandise.
The news comes after sources told Page Six exclusively that the former shock jock, who has a history of substance abuse, was spotted drinking at Fresco by Scotto earlier this month before making an appearance at New York City gay bar The Townhouse, where she talked about all of the projects she has in development, including a possible reality show.
“She had a huge crew that basically turned [the restaurant] into a movie set … approximately 30 people in the crew. Lights, cameras, audio, producers, etc. [It] looked like a reality show,” one spy previously shared with us.
“One of the ‘scenes’ was Wendy having dinner with a friend. Wendy came into the dining room with her big personality waving at all the guests, like they were extras in her movie.”
As for why Williams has decided to drink alcohol again despite completing a two-month trip to rehab last October, her rep said it was because she is starting fresh.
“She is happy and wanted to celebrate as she has a new lease on life,” Zanotti said.
